Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Agatha All Along episodes 1 & 2The sudden appearance of a corpse in Westview is the catalyst for the events ofAgatha All Along, but how it got there in the first place is still a mystery. Thesequel toWandaVisionpicks up with Agatha Harkness still imprisoned in her Agnes persona under Wanda’s spell. However, Wanda’s death inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessmay have shifted the boundaries of the spell, which Agatha first experiences when investigating an unidentified body. When she ultimately realizes that it isWanda’s dead body, Agatha starts to regain her memory of her past life.
Many clues are dropped throughout episode 1 about the true identity of the corpse, so it didn’t come as a surprise. The biggest mysteryis how Wanda’s corpse got to Westview in the first place. Wanda sacrificed herself inMultiverse of Madnessby bringing down Mount Wundagore so that the Darkhold would be destroyed for good. Mount Wundagore was in Eastern Europe, while Westview is a town in New Jersey.Wanda’s corpse suddenly appearing in Westview makes little to no sense, but there is actually a pretty simple explanation for this mystery.

The most logical theory is thatWanda’s corpse isn’t actually in Westview and that it was simply a part of Agatha’s illusion. Just like the hex Wanda unknowingly put herself through duringWandaVision, her updated spell for Agatha’s punishment has the witch acting as a character in a TV show. With these delusions, Agatha is prone to imagining things that aren’t really true. That likely includes the corpse she investigates at the beginning of episode 1 as there’s really no logical reason as to why Wanda’s corpse would suddenly appear, especially sinceAgatha All Alongtakes place years afterMultiverse of Madness.
Agatha All Along Episode 1 & 2 Easter Eggs And Marvel References
Agatha All Along has premiered its first two episodes on Disney+, and both are full of exciting Easter eggs, Marvel references, and WandaVision ties.
When Agatha bringsJoe Locke’s Teenin for questioning, she’s taken aback when he can’t see the images she does and photos of the crime scene become images of flowers. Then, when Agatha goes to investigate the morgue, there’s no corpse until she starts to recall Wanda’s features specifically. These hints both imply that Wanda’s body is not physically in Westview, instead it is a product of Agatha willing it into her delusion. The whole first episode ofAgatha All Alongplays out like a show from Agatha’s imagination, so she likely brought in Wanda’s corpse to fit her narrative.

Where Is Wanda Maximoff’s Body?
Wanda’s corpse should still be buried under the rubble of Mount Wundagore. The mountain wasn’t an accessible location in the first place, as it was surrounded by dark witchcraft, so no ordinary person should have stumbled upon the wreckage and Wanda’s body by chance. There’s no reason to believe it was physically moved, nor would the witnesses like Doctor Strange and America Chavez have a reason to. Agatha has been trapped in Westview since the end ofWandaVision, so there’s no way that she did so either.
There is a small chance that Wanda’s corpse was moved magically.Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidaldoes make a reference to how Wanda’s body “magically” appeared in Westview, which could be intentional wordplay and potentially even a hint at Rio’s own involvement. However, the fact that Wanda’s corpse doesn’t physically appear again after Agatha breaks out of the spell is pretty concrete evidence thatit was all just a part of Agatha’s illusions. Even if Wanda’s body ends up being nowhere near Westview, the thought of it has already done enough to catalyze the events ofAgatha All Along.
