It’s Unknown If I’m A Virgo Season 2 Is Happening
The Creative Team Would Like To Return To The Story
At the moment,it’s unclear ifI’m a Virgoseason 2 will be coming to Amazon Prime, but a lot of the people involved seem to be excited about the prospect. According to showrunner and creator, Boots Riley, he’s fully prepared to make season 2 (viaVulture),
“There will probably be a second season, and that’ll [Cootie’s ending question] be answered there. It was actually going to be answered in the last scene of this season, but weirdly, we cut 60 percent of the show during prep, and that was one of the scenes that had to go. And if there isn’t a second season, I’ll publicly answer it for folks.”
Apparently, Riley had to cut a lot from his show strictly for monetary reasons, so there is a lot more of the show he still wants to do. Given a second season, there is much more Riley wants to explore about the show’s mythology. In response to a question about a second season, executive producer, Michael Ellenberg said (viaTHR),
“We are certainly hoping for one and aiming for one, but it’s too early to tell. But it is built to go on. It’s a mystical Oakland and there are many things we said that have paid off, and there are many things we said that haven’t paid off. And we hope to get the opportunity to do so.”
It seems like everyone would be on board forI’m a Virgoseason 2. It’s up to Amazon if they’re willing to support more episodes.
