Once a player gets their first duck inStardew Valley, they’ll inevitably start amassing a collection ofDuck Featherswith no apparent use. Duck Feathers are generally produced daily by fully mature ducks. They drop randomly around the coop, not unlike eggs or Rabbit Feet. They’ll be picked up automatically by anAuto-Grabber, or can be manually collected by the player when they make their daily visit to the coop.

Having a couple of Duck Feathers is all well and good, but once players have multiple ducks, they’ll likely be getting several per week. This can lead to a massive pile of Duck Feathers collecting dust in a chest somewhere, as there are no apparent uses or crafting recipes that players can make with them. They may not have as many uses as, say, minerals inStardew Valley, but they can come in handy in a few unexpected ways.

You Should Sell Most Of Your Duck Feathers

Duck Feathers Fetch A Decent Price

Ultimately, the main use ofDuck FeathersinStardew Valleyis to sell them. They can’t be used in any crafting recipes, can’t be turned into more valuable animal products, and can’t be gifted to most villagers (except for a very select few). They do, however, fetch a pretty solid sale price, as indicated by the table below.

Note thatDuck Feathers sell for a significantly higher priceif the player takes the Rancher perkat Farming level 5. Like most farmed items, their sell price also increases based on their quality. With animals in particular, the likelihood of spawning higher-quality eggs depends mainly on their friendship ranking with the player. The farmer should verify they’re petting and feeding their ducks daily, and letting them out to swim if they have a nearby pond or other body of water.

Other Uses For Duck Feathers

Gifting & Bundles

There are also a couple of fringe uses for Duck Feathers, but whether they’ll be of any use varies from player to player. For one thing,Duck Feathers are a loved gift by exactly two villagers:ElliottandLeo. Harvey also likes them, while everyone else in town is neutral towards them. The one exception is Penny, who dislikes Duck Feathers.

Should You Keep Or Donate Ancient Seeds In Stardew Valley?

Stardew Valley’s Ancient Seeds can become a very valuable source of income - if only players know how to use the first one they come across.

Besides that,Duck Feathers can also be used fordyeing clothes inStardew Valley. Once the player has obtained their first piece ofCloth, they’ll unlock the Dye Pots at Emily’s house. Players will have to put six different items, each of a different color, in six different pots (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple). They’ll then be able to adjust a variety of different color sliders, and apply the resulting color to an item they’re wearing. A Duck Feather can also be used in theSewing Machineto make a Lime Green Striped Shirt - not necessarily to everyone’s style, but great for putting together aBlues Cluescosplay inStardew.

A single Duck Feather is also needed to complete theDye Bundle at the community center.

Options for Duck Feathers are limited, but they can make players a healthy sum of money. If nothing else,Stardew Valleyplayers can take their appearance as a sign that their animals truly love and trust them, as Duck Feathers only spawn from ducks with high levels of friendship.

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a charming indie farming scene that took the world by storm. After inheriting a run-down farm from their grandfather, the player moves to Stardew Valley to start a new life away from the city. Grow crops, raise animals, befriend the villagers, and discover the secrets the valley has to offer.
