The next Stephen King adaptation is set to be released in February 2025, and it’s got some promising names involved. Theadaptation ofThe Monkeywill be directed by Osgood Perkins, who had one of 2024’s biggest horror movies inLonglegs. It will also star Theo James (The White Lotus,Divergenttrilogy), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), and Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk). The film is also being produced by horror legend James Wan (Saw,The Conjuring).
The film is based on King’s classic short story of the same name, following two twin brothers who reconvene as adults following the re-emergence of a deadly traumatic event at the hands of a toy monkey in their childhood. King’s short stories have been the material for several adaptations, fromChildren of the CorntoThe Shawshank RedemptiontoThe Mist.
