Walter cloned everything from Lottie’s phone onto his device, which is why Misty wants to look at it. While the audience does not get to see what Misty sees, she has a shocked reaction and immediately disappears with the phone. This indicates thatLottie had something on her phone that incriminates Walter as her killer. Misty has been using her citizen detective skills to try and figure out who killed Lottie since episode 4, with Shauna being her top suspect, and she also had suspicions about Taissa Turner (Tawny Cypress) being the culprit.

Walter now seems to be the person who killed Lottie. This makes sense, as Walter needed to find a way to rekindle his relationship with Misty and to get her back to being her old self. Killing Lottie seems to have been his solution, as it gave him and Misty a reason to work together again, and it gave her something to focus on other than her grief. This also explains how Walter learned about Lottie’s death so quickly, even before any of the Yellowjackets were aware of what had happened.

Misty is likely going to reunite with the other Yellowjackets now that she knows the truth. Since the beginning of season 3, Walter has been trying to convince Misty that the other Yellowjackets are not her real friends and that he is the only one who genuinely cares about her. Killing Lottie and framing Shauna for it was meant to help Walter prove his point. Instead, his plan has backfired, as Misty has now left him, and is probably going back to her friends so they can take down Walter together.
Unlike Shauna, Walter does not have an alibi for where he was the day Lottie died.

Misty doesn’t know about thelatest Yellowjackets death, but she will soon learn about Van Palmer (Lauren Ambrose) being killed by Melissa (Hilary Swank). Losing another one of her friends will give Misty even more reason to band together with those she still has left.Walter made the mistake of trying to turn Misty against her friends, but he severely underestimated them, and now he will face the consequences of his actions in theYellowjacketsseason 3 finale.
