Jyn Erso actress Felicity Jones revealed in an exclusive interview withScreen Rantthat her belovedRogue One: A Star Wars Storycharacter could be making a return to theStar Warsscreen—raising questions about whether this may meanAndor.Rogue Oneis largely considered one ofStar Wars’best movies, and both Jones and her character, Jyn, were part of the reason why. Jyn Erso was not amongAndor’scast of charactersin season 1, but withAndorseason 2coming in April 2025,Jyn Erso could have a thrillingStar Warscameo in just a few months.

In an exclusive interview with Liam Crowley ofScreen Rantregarding her upcoming movieThe Brutalist(which arrives at theaters on December 20), Felicity Jones revealed that her time as Jyn Erso may not be over inStar Wars. When asked whether audiences have said goodbye to Jyn for good, Jones responded,“Never. We’ll never say goodbye to her. She will live on, she’ll live on.“Jones then elaborated:

Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso in Rogue One.

I mean, never say never. She’s a pretty badass character. Maybe she could come back as a hologram or something, which is completely possible in the Star Wars universe.

Jones' comments hint that Jyn Erso could very easily be seen again in an upcomingStar Warsproject, which is particularly notable givenFelicity Jones signed a multi-film deal when she initially joinedStar Wars.

What Felicity Jones' Tease Could Mean For Andor Season 2

Jyn Erso’s Cameo Would Have Interesting Implications For Andor’s Story

Of course, withAndorseason 2 just around the corner, and Jyn’s obvious links to that story, Jones' comments immediately raise questions about whether she could have an appearance in the final season of the show. This in turn raises interesting questions about what that could possibly entail. It’s already confirmed thatAndorseason 2’s place in theStar Warstimelinemeans the show will end the same year in whichRogue Oneis set.

This, combined with the fact that Jyn and Cassian Andor obviously didn’t meet untilRogue One, makes it doubtful Jyn would play any sort of major role in the show. However, Jones' specific mention of a hologram appearance could nod toward how a brief cameo could work.It certainly wouldn’t be unusual forStar Warsto end a show or movie with a quick, thrilling cameo—after all,Rogue Oneended with such a cameo by Leia Organa.

Our Take On The Prospect Of More Jyn Erso

Jyn Erso And Felicity Jones' Returns Would Be Brilliant

WhileAndorseason 2 certainly makes sense as a possibility, the fact that Jones originally signed on for multiple movies means there could be something much more significant than a quickAndorseason 2 cameo coming for the character. It’s unclear how Jyn could appear in another movie, given she tragically died at the end ofRogue One, as did Cassian. However, just as Jones herself said, never say never when it comes toStar Wars.Jones and Jyn also absolutely deserve additional time to shine inStar Wars.

Like Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso was a fascinating, powerful character whose story was cut short (even ifRogue One’sending was beautiful and masterfully done). It would be a delight to see Jyn return to theStar Warsscreen in any capacity. Whether that is a quick appearance inAndorseason 2 or a mysterious role in some upcoming movie, Felicity Jones' comments more than inspire hope that Jyn Erso could have a return inStar Warssoon.
