Fast & Furious 11gets a new tease from Vin Diesel as the Dominic Toretto actor shares a tribute to the late Paul Walker on his birthday. From humble beginnings back in 2001, theFast & Furiousfranchise has become one of the biggest action franchises in the world, and it’s now gearing up for the eleventh and potentially final installment in the Fast Saga. Picking up afterFast X(2023),Fast & Furious 11is confirmedto feature Diesel returning as Dom for another car-based adventure, with Louis Leterrier returning to the director’s chair.
As work on the upcoming sequel continues,Dieselshares a touching new post on Instagram, commemorating Walker’s birthday on September 12 after the Brian O’Conner actor tragically passed away in 2013. The image is seemingly from around the premiere of the very firstFast & Furiousmovie, with Diesel claiming that it captures the moment in which he and Walker knew that their “brotherhood was going to change Hollywood.”

The post includes a mention ofFast & Furious 11, with Diesel revealing that he just saw some compelling concept art for the film. While he doesn’t confirm that Walker’s character will appear, the actor does write:“Brian… yeah, I will have to brace myself for this next film…“which could be telling. Check out Diesel’s post and caption below:
Looking back, a quarter century ago… I believe this was the moment we knew that our brotherhood was going to change Hollywood, that you and I meant something to the world… a multicultural brotherhood, bond not by blood, but by love…

To think I just saw concept art for the next chapter. Brian… yeah, I will have to brace myself for this next film…
I saw your mother and Father this summer. I could feel you in their loving embrace… for the last 11 years I have held words like talismans of light, each have gifted me so much with their love and wisdom.

And your daughter… my God, she’s actually continuing your good works, speaking on behalf of our oceans. Just weeks ago, at a birthday dinner… Meadow gave a toast, man you would have been so damn proud. She has a way of speaking from her heart that echos the melody of grace so beautifully.
Traveling to the corners of the world… there’s always someone there to remind me of the impact we’ve had on their lives. Either showing their cars with pride, haha… or simply saying, they feel like they were raised by us. That beautiful brotherhood, a quarter century old.

A brotherhood, timeless and bond by love. For that I am eternally grateful… but damn, I miss you Pablo.
Happy birthday…
What Diesel’s Post Means For Fast & Furious 11
What Else The Actor Has Said About Brian’s Potential Return
So far, relatively little has been revealed aboutFast & Furious 11, but the film will presumably be addressing the outcome ofFast X’s cliffhanger ending, which sees Dom and his son facing down a collapsing dam while the fates of Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Ludacris), Han (Sung Kang), and Ramsey (Natahlie Emmanuel) also hang in the balance. The film also features the surprise reveal that Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot) is alive, with a mid-credits sequence adding another ingredient to the story with the return of Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs.
AFast & Furiousspinoff movie focusing on Johnson’s character is in development, though few updates on this project have arrived since its announcement last summer.
Fast Xreviews may have been mixed in part due to the film’s bloated cast, but the next installment certainly doesn’t look to be trimming down in this respect. In fact, Diesel’s most recent post is further proof that Brian could be appearing in the next installment.Diesel previously said in an interviewin March 2023 thathe “couldn’t imagine this saga ending without truly saying goodbye to Brian O’Conner.“It’s possible that the concept art Diesel saw forFast & Furious 11is somehow related to Brian’s return.
The Next Movie Will Struggle To Top Furious 7’s Ending
With reviews for the last two installments in the franchise being mixed at best,Fast & Furious 11does feel like the right place for the franchise to end. Walker’s Brian played a crucial role in most of the earlier installments, including the acclaimedFast Five(2011), soit would be fitting for the final film in the saga to feature some kind of grand farewell.Brian, after all, remains alive in the world of the movies.
Where Is Brian O’Conner During Fast X
After last appearing in Fast 7, fans have been wondering where Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) is during Fast X, and if he’ll return to the franchise.
This would presumably mean resurrecting Walker digitally, as was done for parts ofFurious 7after he died midway through production. TheFurious 7ending was surprisingly touching and arguably served as the perfect sendoff for Walker, meaning any similar moment inFast & Furious 11could risk not feeling quite as powerful. If the film keeps it short and sweet, however, it could end up putting an emotionally satisfying bow on the Brian storyline for good.
Fast X: Part 2
Cast
Fast X: Part 2 continues the high-octane saga as the eleventh installment in The Fast Saga, directly following the events of Fast X. The film reunites the ensemble cast as they face new challenges and adversaries on their globe-trotting adventures in the pursuit of justice and survival.
