A new trailer for MGM+’s upcoming Stephen King horror show,The Institute, reveals aStranger Things-like lab that’s holding teens with supernatural powers.The InstituteTV showis based on King’s 2019 novel of the same name. The story follows teenager Luke Ellis (Joe Freeman) who awakens in a facility with multiple children that appear to possess supernatural gifts. While the children try to uncover the larger purpose behind their new circumstances, a police officer, Tim Jamieson (Ben Barnes) starts to investigate the building.

Now,MGM+has released a trailer forThe Institute, showcasing what to expect from the horror TV series adapted from King’s novel.The trailer shows Luke finding himself trapped in the titular building, alongside other children. He confronts the head of the Institute, Ms. Sigsby (Mary-Louise Parker), who says his parents know where he is. He’s subjected to tests alongside the other supernatural children, who are plotting an escape attempt. Tim is also investigating, with both storylines hinting at colliding in explosive fashion. WithFromseason 4confirmed,The Instituteadds another major horror TV show to the network’s lineup, and their second time broadcasting King’s work to the small screen.

Based on the events of the trailer, it seemsthe show will focus on building the narrative surrounding the Institute as the children try to find their way out.
