When it comes tocosplay, there are a few popular choices. Batman, Superman, and especiallyWolverineare all fan-favorites. But one of the biggest hurdles for cosplaying isn’t the outfit; it’s actuallylookinglike the character, and one talented cosplayer was able to pull off the perfect Wolverine look.
The perfect Wolverine cosplay was shot by photographerMark(@nycosplayer) at Brooklyn Comic Con. While there are likely tons of wonderful Wolverine cosplayers,Jo Jo Cruz(@just_.j0j0) just has the perfect look. Not only is the Wolverine costume remarkably well put together, but Jo Jo Cruz’s face actuallylookslike Wolverine.

Putting together a superhero costume is hard, but actually looking like the character in question is practically impossible. If someone doesn’t look like Wolverine, there really isn’t much that can be done, but this wasn’t a problem for Jo Jo Cruz who manages to capture Wolverine’s likeness perfectly, from the suit all the way to the iconic grimace of Logan.

Wolverine Has A Very Rugged Look
Photography by @nycosplayer and cosplay by @just_.j0j0
Wolverine isold, andhe’s been around a long time.Due to his healing factor, Wolverineis well over 200 years old, and with that comes a bit of a rugged presence. Wolverine isn’tdirtyby any means, but he’s often fairly gruff and pretty rough-looking by default. It’s not unusual for him to be covered in stubble or something else as he smokes a cigar or downs another bottle of beer. It’s an appearance that not many people can copy, and with good reason.
It’s never a concernlookinglike Spider-Man due to his mask, but Wolverine’s cowl doesn’t afford that.

Due to Wolverine’s healing factor, he can afford to live a rough life and not care about his health, so his iconic rugged look isn’t easy to mimic, but somehow, Jo Jo managed to pull it off, with the perfect amount of stubble too.A key component of Wolverine’s iconic look is that heneedsto look rugged and rough. This is a man who has spent the past 200 years fighting, drinking, and smoking. With characters like Spider-Man, it’s never a concernlookinglike Spider-Man due to his mask, but Wolverine’s cowl doesn’t afford that, and the best cosplayers are the ones who just so happen to look like their character.
Wolverine’s Scowl Is Just As Iconic As His Claws
Some people are just born to play or look like certain characters. Physical appearance is, unfortunately, the hardest part of cosplaying and, for some people, it’s just impossible to overcome. To cosplay a character like Bane, for example, the person would have to be significantly tall and seriously muscle-bound. There are not a lot of cosplayers who meet that requirement. Just like withWolverine, anyone can put together a good-looking superhero suit, but not everycosplayerhas that perfect look that makes it seem like the character leaped right off the page, but Jo Jo Cruz certainly has it.

Wolverine
The human mutant Wolverine (a.k.a. Logan) was born James Howlett, blessed with a superhuman healing factor, senses, and physiology. Subjecting himself to experimentation to augment his skeleton and claws with adamantium, Logan is as deadly as he is reckless, impulsive, and short-tempered. Making him the X-Men’s wildest and deadliest member, and one of Marvel Comics' biggest stars. He’s played in Fox and Marvel’s movie franchises by Hugh Jackman.
