Stardew Valleyplayers were left bewildered by an odd statement made by the game’s carpenter, which seemed to imply that things aren’t as they seem. The cozy farming sim is full of sweet and meaningful interactions with the characters and the world, but sometimes these interactions can leave players scratching their heads, instead. One such interaction was shared by a player, but it turns out the explanation for it is simpler than it seems and entirely self-induced.

RedditorLe_Sabioshared an image of Robin making a bewildering statement about their farm: “This is not a farm.” The comment seems very confusinaag since she is clearly speaking about what is, in fact, the player’s farm. The trick is in the naming of the farm,as Reddit userTylerMoy7explains: “Name your farm “not a” because she’ll say this is ‘your farm name’ farm during the introduction.”

Stardew Valley Players Are Happy To Provide Alternative Answers To Robin’s Strange Question

Fellow Fans Applaud the Original Poster’s Dedication To The Joke

It seems that Le_Sabio created a farm with this name purely for this joke, and fellow players' response shows that it was worth it. In response to Robin’s statement, the Redditor asks, “Well then, what is it, Robin?” The comments are happy to supply answers, starting with the obvious: a screenshot of a line fromStardew Valleyposted byneonplural, stating “This is trash.” Other Redditors follow suit anddip into even more memes, fandoms, and pop culture, saying that it’s everything from “this is a miserable pile of secrets” (quotingCastlevania) to “this isSPARTA!“Sofa_King_We_Toddchimes in with aSpongebobreference, saying “No, this is Patrick.”

“I Did Not Expect CA To Add Theft In 1.6”: Stardew Valley Fan Accidentally Realizes They Can Steal Items

Stardew Valley fans realize that ever since Update 1.6 was implemented, they can steal several decor items from outside NPC homes and more.

Reddit userAny59ohsupplies an actual answer, noting thatRobin might have a canon reasonfor being upset at the farmer: “She’s just mad her convenient mini forest is getting taken over and turned into a farm.“They go on to note that this would even explain why so many of Robin’s community board requests are for lumbersince she doesn’t want to go all the way down to Cindersap Forest now that there’s a farm in the way.

Stardew Valley Names Range From Creative To Just Silly

Stardew Valleyallows players to name their farms, which can lead to some interesting farm names. Besides all the cute and fitting names like “Sunny Meadows” and “Bluebell Fields”, players often choose to go the more creative route for their farm monikers. I’ve seensome very creative names, like “Server Farm”, “Baby’s First Farm”, “Lon Lon Farm”,and many others.

Another favorite is naming it “The”, so it’s just “The Farm.” Thisleads to silly momentslike other characters exclaiming how delicious “The eggs” are rather than attributing it to any particular farm name. Many people apparently also name their farm “Farm” as a placeholder, thinking they’d be able to change it later and not realizing that the game automatically adds “Farm” after the name. As a result, one of the more popular names forStardew Valleyfarms is the wonderfully creative “Farm Farm.”
