Rebirth allows Sims to resurrect inThe Sims 4: Life & Death. Some may go quietly into the afterlife, while others will stay in worlds as restless ghosts. Sims who have achieved the most in life will gain the option of joining a new family and coming back into a new form. This can resemble their past existence or allow full customization to make any desired change.
This reincarnation isn’t simply a cloned Sim. Upon reaching young adulthood, they can regain many of their previous skills, and if they meet someone from their past, they may recall lost memories. However, their lives may be completely out of sync during longer games ofThe Sims 4. If your Sim is reborn as a young child, all of their friends may be elders or dead by the timethey re-enterThe Sims 4:High School Years. This makes it important to seek out old friends and loved ones before that connection is gone.

Complete Bucket List Aspirations
Under normal circumstances, Rebirth is locked upon death inThe Sims 4. To access this option, a Sim mustcomplete six Soul’s Journey Bucket List goals before death. These can be written on any computer or if the Sim buys apersonal journalfrom a bookcase. Goals are randomly generated, but you can focus them on a specific category like “Adventure,” “Travel,” “Create,” or “Busy” (WooHoo). These have you explore other expansions you may own and never force you to buy any new packs forThe Sims 4.
Create-A-Sim’s New Feature In The Sims 4 Update Makes Creating So Much Easier
Thanks to The Sims 4’s latest base game update, at least one feature in Create-A-Sims mode is easier than ever ahead of the release of Life & Death.
Soul’s Journey Bucket Lists are stored in theaspirations panel. This is the same area where you would trackmilestones for aspirations like Romantic Explorer. You have up to four goals at a time, but if you choose to delete any of them, all will be wiped at the same time. If you want to complete goals quickly,only accept easy oneslike traveling to a specific world for 24 hours, social interactions, or using skill-based objects. After finishing any six goals, living Sims while gaining“Dreams Fulfilled”and may select Rebirth upon dying for any reason.
Delaying Rebirth As A Ghost
Regardless, if you complete six Bucket List goals, you are still given the option to remain as a playable ghost inThe Sims 4. However, doing so removes you from anyhigh-paying careeryou had. This does not lock out Rebirth entirely butincreases the tasks you must finish. Now, you have to complete eight goals to earn“The Big Picture.” These can be a combination of ones you already did during life or as a spirit.
Once having “The Big Picture,” head to the Ravenwood neighborhood ofMourningvale. Interact with the Baleful Bog in the west. There will be an option labeled “Rebirth.” Confirm a second time, and your Ghost Sim will be resurrected.
Editing And Playing A Reborn Sim
Joining Their New Family
The first step to Rebirth is deciding which family the Sim will belong to. You can return them to their original home or add them to any family that already lives in the world. Though, there may be some restrictions if the target family is on vacation orvisiting a secret world inThe Sims 4.

You will be given full access to Create A Sim and can edit your Sim as you please. you’re able to change their age, gender, traits, name, and appearance. The only restriction is that they must remain humans, even if youaccess to animals fromThe Sims 4: Horse Ranchor other expansions. When I personally tried Rebirth, I converted my young adult to a teen. They lost many of their clothing options and wound up with a different hairstyle, so the editing isn’t always flawless.
Remembering The Past
If you decide to come back as an infant or toddler, it is still possible to recall important skill levels later in life. However,this is only for former ghoststhat gained “The Big Picture.” Upon becoming a teenager, click on the Sim and select“Recall Past Life”to gain old traits and skills.
