I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now because I spent so much time [doing it] and this was my time to really raise my kids and to do this creative stuff like Bear Fight.
… [if there was] a way to do this where it made sense for my family, it made sense for the timing and if there was a way that I could sort of pass the baton to Stephen [Amell] and the cast in L.A. If I [could have] anything to do with helping support the show and getting it off [the ground], it’s almost like [giving] a blessing.

However, before building a firm on the West Coast,Black used to work in the District Attorney’s office in New York. This is certainly a time when the two characters overlapped, and potentially clashed at times, but it may not be the only time these characters have had dealings with each other. For instance, the pair could have studied at Harvard together, before settling into their careers.

Suits L.A. is finally coming soon, and with more information about the show having been released ahead of its premiere, I’m actually excited to see the spin-off. While I wasn’t entirely sure about Suits L.A., I felt like it was going to be something interesting without knowing much about the structure of the series, but feared it might be too much like the original. Now, knowing that the show won’t be following the same duo star formula, I’m excited to see what’s to come.
With previous connections already established, it makes sense for Harvey to reconnect with his old friend, whether that is to pass over a client to a lawyer he trusts, to help with a major problem at Black’s firm, or for some other mysterious reason. Harvey is confirmed to have a three-episode arc, which is just enough time to ensure that the legacy character has enough time in the new series, without taking over the show. It also means that he can leaveSuits LAin the capable hands of the new cast and crew, and Macht can return to his extended break from acting.
