Star Wars has finally revealed whether Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood is a Jedi, but this twist makes the Skeleton Crew character’s story that much sadder.

The backstory did indeed explain a bit of Jod’s cynicism towards the At Attin kids, who had nice, comfortable lives, but not much more than that. If anything, it’s his present story that matters the most, somethingStar Warsfans should learn from this. His mean words to the kids in the previous episode, for example, revealed just as much as this “backstory.”

Jod has done what someStar Warstelevision characters haven’t and stood on his own characterization, not connections to another story or character. From the moment the kids meet him, he is manipulating. He manipulates how they see him, how his crew sees him, and changes how he relates with each of those groups in an incredibly revealing way. He’s a truly well writtenStar Warsvillain.
