Tool Cards were introduced toPokémon TCG Pocketas part of theSpace-Time Smackdownexpansion. Three of these Tool Cards were added to the game and are a new concept for those unfamiliar with the real lifePokémon TCG.
Item and Supporter cards could already be used on Pokémon, but Tool Cards work differently. They are added to a Pokémon in your active spot or on the benchand remain with them for the rest of battle. Like Item and Supporter Cards, some are more effective than others. However, they have caused a huge change in battles already.

The Tool Cards Introduced Have Already Changed Pokémon TCG Pocket Meta
3 Meta Additions To The Game
So far, three Tool Cards have been introduced toPokémon TCG Pocketand are being commonly usedin PvP battles. Giant Cape is proving very popular as it adds 20 HP to the Pokémon it is attached to. It is one of thebest cards to use in battlein theSpace-Time Smackdownexpansion. The Rocket Helmet deals 20 damage back to the opponent any time your Pokémon takes damage itself, again making it a useful choice. Players regularly use these both in battles, as once they have been picked up from the deck, they can have a direct impact on a player’s best cards.
In the battle section of the game, there is a guide called “Play a Pokémon Tool Card,” which teaches you the basics of how they work.

Lum Berry is the least effective of the Tool Cards on offer so far. Any Pokémon with it attached recovers from any special conditions at the end of the turn. However, once it has been used to recover, it is discarded. The new cards bring a different element to matches, especially Giant Cape, which can take Pokémon out of range of even the strongest attacks on offer. SomePokémon’s attacks can also deal more damage when they have a tool attached. While this doesn’t further increase the power of thebestSpace-Time Smackdownex cards, it does make many others more viable.
What Tool Cards We Could See Next

There are also a number of really strongPokémon TCGTool Cards that could be added in the future and further change the meta. One of these is The Fighting Fury Belt, which adds a whopping 40 HP to any Pokémon as well as increases all attack damage by 10. InPokémon TCG, it is listed as an item, but could be added toPokémon TCG Pocketas a tool due to being attached to a specific Pokémon. Another potential game changer is Float Stone, which changes any Pokémon’s retreat cost to zero, which could save some of the strongest Pokémon from being KO’d.

Tool Cards inPokémon TCG Pocketare already changing the meta in PvP battles, and with only three in the game so far, they are certain to further change the best decks as more cards are added.
