Juno Temple has weighed in on the recent news aboutTed Lassoseason 4 and the potential return of her character, Keeley. SinceTed Lassoseason 3 finished airing in May 2023,there’s been speculation about the show’s future and whether it will return for season 4or perhaps one of the spinoffs teased in the finale. The first concrete update didn’t come until August 2024, with news that Warner Bros. picked up its options on Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham, and Jeremy Swift. While the news does not guaranteeTed Lassoseason 4will happen, it is significantly more likely now.
On the 2024 Emmys red carpet,THRasked Temple whether Keeley could appear in the new seasonif it happens. She responded:

I mean,I hope so, but I don’t know yet. I just, I’ve heard that it sounds like it may be happening, sothat’s really exciting.

Temple’s Enthusiasm Is A Good Sign For Keeley’s Return
Temple is not among the three actors who had their options already picked up forTed Lassoseason 4. However, reports about the new season indicate thatWarner Bros. is keen to have her be a part of the new season. News broke about Goldstein, Waddingham, and Swift first because all three actors are a part of the UK acting union Equity, while Temple and co-creators/stars Brendan Hunt and Jason Sudeikis are with SAG-AFTRA and need completely new deals.

Our Take On Juno Temple’s Potential Return In Ted Lasso Season 4
If Ted Lasso Comes Back, There Are Exciting Options For Keeley’s Story
TheTed Lassoseason 3 finaleteased a couple of storylines for the future, andI was most excited by the idea of Keeley and Rebecca starting a women’s team. If both Temple and Waddingham return for season 4, which seems likely, the show would be wise to follow up on that thread.
Keeley and Rebecca’s friendship is one ofTed Lasso’s biggest selling points, and there’s a clear opportunity to make it a focal point of season 4.
Keeley and Rebecca’s friendship is one ofTed Lasso’s biggest selling points, and there’s a clear opportunity to make it a focal point of season 4. The inclusion of the women’s team would also help justify the existence of the new season, as it would take the show in an exciting new direction rather than feeling like a retread. Additionally,I was a little disappointed by Keeley’s storyline in season 3.

Make Rebecca Great Again
While it was wonderful to see the show fully embrace her bisexuality, that part of her story was pretty entangled with her failures at her work, which I would argue felt out of character for her. If Temple returns forTed Lassoseason 4, it will give the show the chance to rectify some of those issues with Keeley’s story, showing her as the savvy boss and wonderful friend she is.
