Full Housecast members Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber are in agreement over the episode they view as the show’s worst. First airing in September 1987,Full House became one of the most successful American sitcoms, spanning eight seasons and 192 episodes, before concluding in May 1995. Thecast ofFull Houseincluded Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and John Stamos, along with Sweetin and Barber as Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler respectively. Both reprised their roles for the successful Netflix spinoffFuller House, which released five seasons from 2016-2020.
PerEntertainment Weekly, during an episode of their podcastHow Rude, Tanneritos, the two stars discussed the worst-ever episode ofFull House,andreached the consensus that the season one episode “Sea Cruise” stands alone as the show’s weakest. They discussed other potential options, such as Michelle’s dream sequence in season 3’s “Bye, Bye Birdie,” but determined that the audience would be in no doubt that it was “Sea Cruise.” Barber confirmed she didn’t think there had been a “worse episode since Sea Cruise” while Sweetin agreed, “Sea Cruise takes the cake.” Check out the exchange below:

Barber:Oh, yeah. Should we start with the worst?
Sweetin:On the count of three. One, two, three.

Barber:Easily the worst episode. I don’t think there’s been a worse episode since Sea Cruise. Like I think Sea Cruise takes the cake for all seasons.
Sweetin:Sea Cruise takes the cake. Although, whatever that weird Michelle dream sequence was was also creepy.
Barber:That was very creepy.
Sweetin:And the Howie stuff was also pretty low. But, again, not as bad as Sea Cruise.
Barber:Still not as bad as Sea Cruise, yeah. I keep waiting to assign, to crown, a new worst episode, but for me, it’s Sea Cruise. It’s still there.

The shift in focus removes the family dynamic that made the show work so well, as well as the awkward jokes and the fact it feels too soon for Danny to start dating again after his wife’s death. The episode is wide of the mark in many ways, but fortunately, the show learned a lot from this, andFull Housecontinued for another seven seasons, with largely strong consistency.
