The number of inventive ship builds possible inStarfieldis undoubtely one of the game’s biggest strengths, especially whenplayers are able to take things a little further by using mods to create a uniquely iconic design. Shortly afterStarfield’s release, the community flocked to the ship editor in an effort to build vehicles that resembled some of pop culture’s most recognizable spacecrafts. While the base game provides plenty of options for building ships like the N-1 Starfighter or the USS Enterprise, third-party help is required to get the most out of the system.
Posted to Reddit by creatorlililiilillil, theStarfieldplayer shared an image of their ship that’s built to closely resemble Eagle-5, the iconic vessel from the 1987 comedySpaceballs.

A parody ofStar Wars' Millenium Falcon,Eagle-5 is a standard Winnebago RV equipped with a dorsal fin and jet engines capable of propelling it across the galaxy. Lililiilillil confirms that they used a range of mods to provide some of the custom parts that aren’t available inStarfield, but the end result is fantastic; one could easily be fooled into thinking it’s an official crossover event.

Starfield’s Ship Building Could Use Some Improvements
While themodular nature ofStarfield’s ship-buildingsystem allows for plenty of creativity, there are some aspects that could be refined with expansions or DLC. As pointed out by lililiilillil, the game’s painting options are very limited and don’t provide the kind of customization one might needto authentically recreate the colour scheme of a reference ship. Whether this is an aspect that Bethesda is looking into remains to be seen but the studio has previously created a DLC that could serve as a template.
Shortly afterFallout 4launched,Bethesda released theAutomatronadd-on that featured some light story hooks, but rather focused on fleshing out the game’s crafting mechanic. The DLC enabled the Sole Survivor to build and customize their own robots, equipping them with new parts to create some monstrous machines. The same system could apply toStarfield, adding new ship parts and tech to make the system even more flexible.

Datamined Starfield Shattered Space Vehicles Are Cool, But Highlight One Major Issue I Have With The REV-8
A recent datamine of Starfield revealed two new vehicles that could be introduced with the Shattered Space DLC, but could demonstrate a major issue.
WithStarfield’s first major expansionShattered Spacedue out at the end of September, many players are hoping the next DLC prioritizes ship building. Considering its one of the game’s most universally praised aspects, it stands to reason thatBethesda would focus on growing it. One can only hope that Eagle-5 could soon be built inStarfieldwithout the help of mods.
