TheStardew Valleycommunity’s collective hatred for Pierre knows no bounds butone player has a simple solution for anyone who doesn’t want to support the greedy shopkeeper. Pierre has grown somewhat of a negative reputation amongstStardew Valleyplayers not least of all because of his tendency to resell the Farmer’s crops while passing them off as his own. His negative attitude towards his daughter Abigail and his attack on Morris have all but solidified the perception that he’s simply not a very nice man.
Fortunately, Reddit useraroyalidiothas a great suggestion for players who’d prefer to reduce the amount of business they conduct with Pierre:Sell their fish to Willy.

Responding toFine_Homework_5474’s post about the rage they feel toward the merchant, the friendly commenter noted thatselling to Willy is better since the fisherman never passes off the player’s catches as his own, constantly praises the Farmer’s skills, and doesn’t make a big deal out of low-quality fish. While it may take more effort, it’s at least one small way to stick it to Pierre.
Why Does Everyone Hate Pierre?
He Does Make It Hard To Like Him
Pierre undeniably stands out as one of the more unlikable people in Pelican Town. One of the primary reasons players have such a major issue with him is hisresponse to winning the Fall Grange Festival:His attitude is overtly smug, rubbing his victory in the player’s face. Many have pointed out that there’s a high chance some of the items he puts on display were grown or caught by the Farmer, meaning he lies about his stock.
Perhaps most inexcusable is his assault on Morris, the manager of the local Joja Mart. While his concerns about the major franchisetaking away his businessare certainly valid, the confrontation between the two goes much too far. His outburst andaggressiveness towards Morrisare too extreme to justify, making it hard to sympathize with him further.

Stardew Valley: 15 Best Items To Sell & Make Money
Stardew Valley players can produce lots of profitable items on their farms. Among the best items to make and sell are rare crops and Artisan Goods.
Willy Is Stardew Valley’s Unsung Star
A Fishy King
I love the idea of only selling fish to Willy becauseI think he’s one of Stardew Valley’s most under-appreciated characters. A salty sea dog who’shappy to stay in his laneand go about his business without hurting anyone else, he’s great to spend some time with and turns into a fantastic friend. Selling to Willy will take a little more time but when it comes to feeling good about one’s sales, running to his house each day is a small compromise.
