Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Jedi Knights #2Star Warshas just debuted their very own version of Xenomorphs from theAlienfranchise. Set before the events of the prequel trilogy, Marvel’s new and canonicalJedi Knightsseries has been revealing new adventures for members of the Jedi Order, both old and new. This includes Master Yoda, who once found himself surrounded by a horde of what can only be described as canonical Xenomorphs.

InStar Wars: Jedi Knights #2by Marc Guggenheim and Madibek Musabekov, Master Yoda and Jedi Knight Vetna Mooncrest are investigatingthe operations of the newStar Warsvillain Atha Prime, discovering his secret genetic experiments hidden below his more innocuous biofields of crops on the moon of Veeros. As a result, the Jedi are attacked from above by an all-black alien abomination, sporting a prehensile tail with nearly impenetrable armor, who’s quickly joined by several more of the horrific creatures:

Yoda and Vetna vs Xerexi in Jedi Knights #2

Named the Xerexi, it’s eventually confirmed that these are the genetic creations of Atha Prime. Furthermore, the more that’s known about the creatures, the more it becomes evident that these newStar Warsmonsters are directly inspired byAlien’sXenomorphs.

The Xerexi Have Arrived, Genetic Star Wars Abominations

They’re Clearly Inspired by Xenomorphs

Although they have dark eyes and horns on the sides of their heads mirroring Atha Prime’s own mask, the rest of the Xerexi’s features could just as easily be attributed to the classic Xenomorph. Featuring incredibly durable armor and black skin, both creatures have rows of sharp teeth and deadly prehensile tails. Likewise, it’s also revealed that the Xerexi can self-reproduce, not unlike theXenomorph and its deadly life cycle.

Star Wars: Yoda’s 8 Best Lightsaber Fights in History, Ranked

While they’re pretty rare, here are some of Grandmaster Yoda’s best lightsaber battles across the Star Wars timeline, ranked (on-screen and comics).

While the horde of Xerexi nearly overwhelmed Yoda and Vetna, they soon discovered the Xerexi’s weaker underside.Following Yoda’s duel with Atha Prime (in which the genetic terrorist escaped), more Jedi were called in to terminate the rest of his test subjects on the moon of Veeros. That said, it seems as though the new and deadlyStar Warsthreat is far from finished.

Atha Prime Still Has Plenty To Unleash On The Galaxy

As revealed by the issue’s end, Atha Prime escaped with plenty of Xerexi still held within containment units, just ready to be unleashed on an unsuspecting world. To that end, it certainly looks as though the Jedi Order will face theStar Warsgalaxy’s Xenomorphs in the future. Hopefully, the Jedi will be able to end the threat before it grows too large to fully contain. It’d be absolutely tragic if the Jedi failed to save a world from Prime’s Xerexi, which could just as easily fall to these lethal creatures as they would to a horde of Xenomorphs.
