Commander Data (Brent Spiner) also had a brother, who he first met inTNGseason 1, episode 13, “Datalore.” Before perfecting Data, Dr. Noonien Soong (Brent Spiner), had created other androids, including the villainous Lore (Brent Spiner).

Every Picard Family Member In Star Trek

Admiral Jean-Luc Picard is part of a proud family of explorers and wine-makers. The Picard family spans generations of Star Trek.

Kurn appeared in three episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and one of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

After Worf’s biological parents were killed at the Khitomer Massacre, Worf’s young brother Kurn was raised by a family friend named Lorgh. Lorgh accepted Kurn as his son, and Kurn grew up believing Lorgh to be his true father until he reached the Age of Ascension.Kurn reunited with Worf inTNG’s"Sins of the Father"when the Duras family conspired to dishonor the House of Mogh. Kurn continued posing as Lorgh’s son until Gowron restored the Mogh family’s honor. Kurn served with distinction during the Klingon Civil War and was eventually granted a seat on the Klingon High Council.

Later, Worf and Kurn fell into dishonor again when they refused to support the Klingon invasion of Cardassia. When a disgraced and depressed Kurn shows up on space station Deep Space 9 inDS9season 4, episode 15, “Sons of Mogh,” he wants Worf to kill him in the Mauk-to’Vor ritual. In the end,Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) helps Worffind another solution. Dr. Julian Bashir (Alexander Siddig) assists in wiping Kurn’s memory, altering his appearance, and even resequencing his DNA.Kurn then takes on a new identity as Rodek, son of Noggra, ending any connection between him and Worf.

Data’s Brother, Lore, Was Deactivated & Later Absorbed Into Data

Lore appeared in four total episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

When Lore first arrived on the Enterprise-D in “Datalore,” Data was thrilled to discover that he was not alone in the universe.Unfortunately, Lore turned out to be a lousy brother,as he tried to deliver the Enterprise crew to the Crystalline Entity that had destroyed all life on Omicron Theta. Lore’s temperament had not improved when he returned inTNGseason 4, episode 3, “Brothers,” as he stole the emotion chip Dr. Noonien Soong had created for Data. Having been created before Data, Lore was emotionally unstable and he believed himself superior to humans.

InTNG’s"Descent" two-parter, Lore aligned with a group of Borg drones and manipulated Data to join him, forcing Data to deactivate his brother to stop him.Years later,Noonien Soong’s son, Altan Soong (Brent Spiner), constructed a new golem body, combining his own memories with those of Data, Lore, B-4, and Data’s daughter Lal (Hallie Todd). As the two strongest personalities, Data and Lore both began trying to seize control of this new brain. Data eventually triumphed over his brother, and the two personalities morphed into one newly upgraded version of Data.
