I would love for the as-yet-unconfirmed sequel toDeadpool & Wolverineto replace Vanessa Carlysle with a powerful character introduced inAgatha All Alongin Phase 5 of theMCU. Morena Baccarin first appeared as Vanessa in 2016’sDeadpool, introduced as Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson’s love interest, and she reprised the role in both 2018’sDeadpool 2and 2024’sDeadpool & Wolverine, marking her official MCU debut. I find Vanessa an incredibly humanizing and hilarious character, but Marvel has set up the perfect opportunity to replace her in theMCU’s possibleDeadpool 4.
Vanessa Carlysle is not Deadpool’s only love interest in Marvel Comics, as he has also found himself involved with the likes of Carol Danvers, Rogue, Domino, Black Widow and many more.Ladies man Wade Wilson has also formed romantic connections with some of the most unexpected and formidable characters in the Marvel Universe, one of whom I was recently thrilled to see debut as part ofAgatha All Along’sincredible cast. Following the Phase 5 series, which has quickly become one of my favorite Marvel Studios projects, I’d love to see Death appear inDeadpool 4.

While we’ve seen Vanessa Carlysle as Deadpool’s primary love interest in live-action, I’m one of many who consider Lady Death to be Deadpool’s most significant romance.Deadpool’s inability to die because of his manufactured mutant ability makes him the perfect match for the physical embodiment of death, and I reckon Ryan Reynolds and Aubrey Plaza’s chemistry on-screen would be electric as Deadpool and Death, respectively. Asequel toDeadpool & Wolverinehasn’t yet been confirmed, but I reckon it’s likely after the movie’s massive success, and Death would be a fantastic addition.

This culminated in them walking Billy Maximoff’s Witches' Road together, before Agatha sacrificed herself to Death to save the Scarlet Witch’s son. Now free from her romantic connection to Agatha Harkness,I would love to see Death’s influence extend even further throughout the MCU, andDeadpool 4would be the perfect place to start.

After a series of near-death experiences, Deadpool finds himself becoming infatuated with Lady Death, and during 2002’sFuneral for a Freakstoryline, Death begins to reciprocate these feelings. Hilariously, this makes the Mad Titan Thanos incredibly jealous, as he himself was in love with Lady Death and carried out some heinous acts in an effort to impress her. Out of jealousy,Thanos cursed Deadpool with immortality, meaning he would never be able to see Lady Death again, but their romance will go down in history as one of Marvel’s most iconic and unusual.

InDeadpool, Wilson hunted Ajax in the hopes of reverting his appearance to his previous attractive self to make himself desirable for Vanessa.Deadpool 2then saw Wade Wilson suffer following Vanessa’s sudden and shocking demise, but we saw a very different story inDeadpool & Wolverine.
Aubrey Plaza hasn’t yet been confirmed to be returning to the MCU as Death, but I reckon this is very likely.
Ryan Reynolds' MCU debut revealed that Wade Wilson and Vanessa had split up, butDeadpool still fought to protect not only Vanessa, but his entire family on Earth-10005. We saw Marvel tease the rekindling of Wade Wilson and Vanessa’s relationship at the end ofDeadpool & Wolverine, but the permanent move into the MCU could end this relationship completely, or Vanessa could even become the villainous Copycat. This would present the perfect opportunity forDeadpool and Deathto partner up in the MCU, which would make me incredibly happy.
