Future School Spirits Episodes Will Need To Investigate The Hospital And How Its Ghosts Work
Perhaps one of the most surprising plots of season 2 begins whenXavier becomes a ghost at the hospital inSchool Spirits. Before being brought to life, he manages to see several dead people, including a nurse who smiles at him, a lady smoking a cigarette, and a fisherman. Though Xavier doesn’t see ghosts again, he shockingly recognizes the latter in a picture in Maddie’s home. Upon asking Sandra about it,Xavier confirms the fisherman is Maddie’s dad, guaranteeingSchool Spiritswill venture into the hospital ghost lore soon.
Who Yuri Is & How He Died In School Spirits
School Spirits’s Yuri might be key to explaining Janet and Mr. Martin’s plans, and his death just became one of season 2’s biggest mysteries.
Notably, Maddie’s dad welcomes Xavier to the “waiting room” when he is dying. Even if this could be just a reference toBeetlejuice, it heavily hints that it is the place where ghosts go before they cross over. This would mean spirits outside school experience death very differently, as it is also strange that Maddie’s dad is at the hospital when he drowned in a river. It would be interesting to see if the hospital also has scars and find outwhy Dave hasn’t crossed over, and whether Maddie or his friends could help him.

Assuming Dave cannot leave the hospital,the best way for Maddie to go with him is if she gets her body back. While it’s uncertain if she’d be able to see him, it’s possible — as Simon can see her because of their connection. Additionally, she could talk to him without seeing him, or Xavier’s connections to the hospital could allow him to speak to Maddie’s dad again.

Being that theSchool Spiritscast teased season 2’s endingas “the worst thing that could happen,” it’s likely the titular ghost won’t return to her body — suggesting she won’t meet her dad anytime soon. Alternatively, someone could die,opening the possibility for season 3 to explore the hospital setting and Maddie’s dad. Notably, the synopsis for the final episode ofSchool Spirits' season 2 says Maddie’s body will be put in “jeopardy.” (viaRotten Tomatoes) Considering she has an untreated head wound, Maddie could even get her body back, only to die in it again.
