Red Risingby Pierce Brown was originally released in 2014 and saw immense success from the start, as every book in the series so far has been a New York Times Bestseller. Theambitious science-fiction novelfocuses on a dystopian society where humanity has essentially colonized the Solar System, running society of color codes, where Golds rule and Reds find themselves at the bottom.Red Rising, and the series in general, follows a lowborn miner, Darrow, who infiltrates the Golds' ranks.
Red Risingwas just the beginning of a saga that has spanned six novels so far, with a seventh on the way. The originalRed RisingTrilogy consisted ofRed Rising,Golden Son, andMorning Star, while the Iron Gold Tetralogy, which becomes more adult-oriented instead of YA, consists ofIron Gold,Dark Age,Light Bringer, and finallyRed God, which has gotten a new release window and has gotten me excited to possibly revisit the entire saga before it comes out.

Pierce Brown Says That Red God Will Likely Release In Summertime 2026
It Should Be Released Three Years After Light Bringer
Pierce Brown’sRed RisingTrilogy was a massive success, and his subsequent series in the saga, theIron GoldTetralogy, has been as well, with the third book (and sixth overall),Light Bringer, being the latest release in 2023. A lot of speculation has been made regarding when the seventh book in the franchise,Red God,will be arriving, and Pierce Brown has a timeframe for fans anxiously waiting.
In a February 2025 interview with literaryYouTuber Maude Garret, he opened up about whenRed Godwill likely be released, placing iton track for a great summer 2026 timeframe, as he stated:

I think, unless I encounter some new hiccups and stuff, it will be out next year, most likely in the summertime, but we will have to see.
Around the same time as the interview, Pierce Brown posted on an Instagram story (viaReddit) that the book was still being worked on and that he was really wanting to get it done right, despite wanting it to be done altogether, stating:

Still working on Book 7. It’s a beast. I want it done, but I want to get it right. Lots to tie in and tie up. Many to maim. Many to martyr. Thanks for the patience.
Everything We Know About Red God
The Final Book In The Iron Gold Tetralogy
Light Bringerended spectacularly, with several saga-shattering revelations and plot twists that set the stage for what is to come inRed Saga, which is the end of theIron GoldTetralogy of books that take place a decade after theRed RisingTrilogy, starting withIron Gold. The biggest question mark is what exactly will happen to Lysander, whose transformation to becoming a true monster took place over the course of the first three novels in the tetralogy, as it could very well end on a dark turn, possibly priming the saga in general for a new story to follow.
“Streaming Has Had A Big Problem With Epic Fantasy”: Author Brandon Sanderson Weighs In On Fantasy TV, Cites Rings Of Power & Wheel Of Time As Disappointments

What We Know About A Red Rising Saga Movie Or TV Adaptation
A TV Series Is Still In Development
Fantasy book adaptations continue to be massive successes both in film and television, and Pierce Brown has been working since at least 2018 trying to get an adaptation ofRed Risingup and running. At NYC Comic-Con 2018, Pierce Brown talked about the show, giving fans in attendance an update on its possible production, stating:
We’re having weekly meetings on it. It’s also cool because everyone just comes to my house and it’s way more fun that way. Last time we just watched Blade Runner and then worked on Red Rising. So that’s just really fun because it makes it a community and that makes it way better than the average experience.
He also spoke about it atSan Diego Comic-Con 2022, confirming that it was still in development. In that recent interview withMaude Garretwhere he spoke aboutRed God’srelease date, Pierce Brown gave some more updates on the show, and he was still optimistic about it despite the shifting Hollywood and streaming landscape, stating:
The chances of it being made are still pretty good. Better than 50/50 in my opinion. We’ve renewed with our streamer and our developing kind of the last round of developments… I will have an answer on whether or not it will be a TV show, at this particular place [unknown streamer] within the next five months.
There has been no official word on what streaming platform will hopefully be taking on aRed Risingadaptation, but Reddit userPlatonicDisctalked about noticing at least two men in season 4, episode 2 ofLove is BlindreadingRed Rising, leading to speculation thatNetflix might be hinting at them adapting it. Of course, it could just be a coincidence, but it might very well be early marketing. No matter what, though,Red Godshould end the Iron Gold Tetralogy on an incredible note, and the chances ofRed Risingbeing adapted are still pretty solid.
