The spinoff ofReacher, focused on the supporting character of Frances Neagley, is officially greenlit, and new plot details are revealed.Reacherseason 3is on its way to audiences, with Maria Sten set to reprise her role as Neagley. Varietyconfirms that the Neagley spinoff, first reported in September, hasofficially been ordered to series at Prime Video. The announcement came during the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event, which occurred in London on October 1. The project will be written byReacherseries creator Nick Santora, who developed the show withLaw & Orderwriter Nicholas Wootton. The two will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.A release date is unknown.

The Untitled Neagley Project focuses on Sten’s Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Jack Reacher’s circle. When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell bent on justice. Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.
Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, shared a statement about the spinoff. He praised Sten and the success of the mainReacherseries:

Maria Sten’s Reacher character is getting a spinoff, which opens the door for a specific interaction that’s essentially off-limits in the main show.

The main series reveals that Sten’s character isn’t comfortable with physical contact and that she’s the only one able to call out some of Jack Reacher’s aloof tendencies.
