The Esports World Cup: Level Up brings the biggest names in competitive gaming to the screen while offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the inaugural 2024 tournament. Produced by The Machine and directed by R.J. Cutler, who is best known for Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry (2021) and Elton John: Never Too Late (2024), this five-part documentary vividly captures the intensity, passion, and personalities that define the global esports phenomenon. Furthermore, here are some of the key personalities featured in the project:

In a press release, Cutler revealed that it was the compelling human stories unfolding within this high-stakes arena that drove him to the Esports World Cup. He explained, “Level Up isn’t just about the incredible competition and prize money; rather, it’s about the dedication, the passion, and the sheer will of these athletes and teams pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”

When is the documentary out?
