Power Rangers Hexagon, the infamousPower Rangersseason that never happened, would have paid off the show’s most iconic rivalry. Writer Amit Bhaumik, who worked on 2002’sWild Force, has since shared his plans for what would have beenPower Rangersseason 11. Given how Disney took over the franchise whenWild Forcewas still airing, any pre-existing plans for season 11 were dropped as the franchise shifted into a new direction.Power Rangersmoved production to New Zealand, withNinja Stormbeing the first season fully produced and released under Disney.
Power RangersNinja Stormwas based onNinpu Sentai Hurricaneger, but Bhaumik’s original plan for the show’s version of thatSuper Sentaiserieswas quite different from what we got. Rather than a standalone story featuring brand-new characters, the “Forever Red” writer conceived season 11 as a legacy season that would bring backTommy Oliver as the head of an organization called Hexagon– hence thePower Rangers Hexagontitle. One of the ideas was that Tommy was going to mentor the three main Rangers, whereas Jason, the original Red Ranger, was going to mentor a separate team.

Power Rangers Hexagon Would’ve Paid Off Jason And Tommy’s Rivalry
The OG Red And Green Rangers Would’ve Been On Opposite Sides
Hurricanegerhas two separate teams of heroes, the Hurricanegers and the Gouraigers. InPower RangersNinja Storm, those were the Wind Rangers and the Thunder Rangers, respectively. While these were just early ideas Bhaumik had for its version of season 11,Power Rangers Hexagonwould have seen the three main Rangers – Red, Blue, and Yellow – working for Tommyas part of the Hexagon. The Hexagon would also serve as a giant command center for multiplePower Rangersteams, and the idea was to bring back characters from previous seasons.
In “Forever Red,” Tommy wasn’t sure if Jason was going to answer his call and show up. This suggested that they were not on very good terms, although not much is known about what happened to them betweenTurboandWild Force.

Jason would not have been a fan of Tommy’s plan for the Hexagon, which is why there would be a “civil war” element to the season. The three main Rangers, mentored by Tommy, would clash with the Crimson Red and Navy Blue Rangers, mentored by Jason. In other words,Power Rangers Hexagonwould have been the culmination of the rivalry between the original Red Ranger and the original Green Ranger that began in 1993. Granted, Tommy and Jason were friends, but their leadership styles were very different.
Jason & Tommy Were Never In The Same Episode Again After “Forever Red”
The Iconic Power Rangers Characters Never Interacted On-Screen Again
Amit Bhaumik wrote “Forever Red,” the fan-favoritePower Rangerscrossover episode that reunited Jason and Tommyalongside all other Red Rangers from MMPR toWild Force. Therefore, it’s safe to say thatPower Rangers Hexagon, which would have come out less than a year after theRed Ranger crossover, would have built up from “Forever Red.” One of the best things about “Forever Red” is how it brought together characters from different eras of the show that had never interacted on screen. “Forever Red” also teased that Jason and Tommy were not on the best of terms.
Power Rangers In Order: How To Watch Every Series Chronologically & By Release Date
From Mighty Morphin to Cosmic Fury, here is how to watch every Power Rangers TV show in order, both chronologically and by release date.
However, not only didPower Rangers Hexagonnever happen, but Jason and Tommy were never in the same episode again – at least not without their helmets off and played by Jason David Frank and Austin St. John. Tommy would appear again in Dino Thunder as a main character as well as inSuper MegaforceandSuper Ninja Steelfor cameos, whereas Jason would only appear again in Beast Morphers. While the Hexagon idea sounded very exciting,Ninja Stormwas a greatPower Rangersseason on its own.
