ThePower Rangersuniverse was built on crossovers and cameos, many of which came out of nowhere and helped build a sense of continuity that made the show even better. When it comes to special appearances inPower Rangers, there is a difference between the usual crossover episodes between the current and the previous team, and cameos from legacy heroes. Almost every season had one team-up episode featuring the previousPower Rangersteam, but not every season had cameos from other generations.

From 1993 to 1998,everyPower Rangersshowwas part of the same overarching story that later became known as the Zordon Era. AfterPower Rangers in Space, the show started to have more standalone series, which made cameos and crossover episodes very special. From iconic Rangers showing up to help the younger generation to villains returning decades after their first appearance,Power Rangersknows how to do cameos.

10Kimberly And Jason In Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie

Power Rangers Turbo’s Prelude Movie

Turbo: A Power Rangers Moviemay not have been a great film, especially compared toMighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, but it at least gave us a reunion everyone had been waiting for since 1994.Amy Jo Johnson’s Kimberlyand Austin St. John’s Jason showed up for a brief yet meaningful role in theTurbofilm, markingthe first time the original Pink and Red Rangers were reunited sinceMighty Morphin Power Rangersseason 2.

The original Red Ranger had already returned inZeo, now as the second Gold Ranger. Amy Jo Johnson, on the other hand, had been away from the franchise since Kimberly left the team inMMPRseason 3. Seeing two of the originalPower Rangerstogether and interacting with the current team of heroes was a dream come true, even thoughKimberly and Jason were brainwashed and had to fight their friends.

9Justin In Power Rangers In Space

“True Blue To The Rescue”

Although the decision to replace Rocky with a child inPower Rangers Turbowas not universally praised, it was nice seeing Justin show up inPower Rangers in Space.Justin was the only one of the firstTurboRangers to remain on the team after the new characters came in, yet he was the only one not to go to spaceat the end of the season. Not having Justin as part of the team inPower Rangers in Spacewas the right decision, but that doesn’t mean his cameo was not cool.

Sorry Kimberly, But Power Rangers’ Greatest Pink Ranger Was Only Introduced In The 2000s

Mighty Morphin’s Kimberly is among the most iconic Power Rangers of all time, but the best Pink Ranger in the franchise first appeared in the 2000s.

Justin had been a member of the team up until five minutes before the events ofPower Rangers in Space’s first episode, meaning it would have been odd not to acknowledge him at all his this new season, especially after the Rangers started to visit Earth more often.TheTurboBlue Ranger showing up to save the day in “True Blue to the Rescue” was a welcome surpriseand made for a fun episode.

8Adam In Power Rangers In Space

“Always A Chance”

One of thebestPower Rangersepisodesof all time, “Always a Chance” was more than just fanservice and used a nostalgic cameo to tell a beautiful story. Adam, the second Black Ranger, was the onlyMMPRRanger to appear inPower Rangers in Space. That itself made “Always a Chance” an instant classic, but the wayAdam’s return served Carlos’ character developmentmade it even better.

Zhane

Silver Ranger

Adam was also theZeoGreen Ranger and the firstTurboGreen Ranger, meaning that he had been Carlos’ predecessor and somewhat of a mentor, even if briefly. With Carlos now being theIn SpaceBlack Ranger, it only made sense to bring back Adam with hisMMPRcolors. Adam’s bravery to morph into a damaged Power Coin inspired Carlos to keep fighting, leading to one of the best team-ups in the whole show.

7The Veteran Red Rangers In Power Rangers Wild Force

“Forever Red”

Crossover episodes were nothing new for the show by the timePower RangersWild Forcearrived, but “Forever Red” was so much more than just the usual team-up episode. To celebratePower Rangers’ 10th anniversary,“Forever Red” brought most of the franchise’s Red Rangers back for an unforgettable crossover.Apart from Rocky, Jason’s replacement inMighty Morphin, every Red Ranger was back for a mission led byTommy Oliver and Andros.

Cole Evans

Wild Force Red

Despite how awesome seeing ten Red Rangers assemble was, what truly made “Forever Red” a standout was how well each Ranger was written. Unlike a lot of otherPower Rangerscrossovers,“Forever Red” did not mischaracterize its heroes and wrote everyone as if they were in their original shows. This made the interactions between these Rangers, most of whom had never been in the same room with the others, even more fun.

6Adam & Disney Era Rangers In Power Rangers Operation Overdrive

“Once A Ranger”

Power RangersOperation Overdrivewas not one of Disney’s best seasons, but it gave us a very unique crossover featuring a never-before-seen team formed by five Rangers of five different seasons.Adam once again returned as theMighty MorphinBlack Ranger, this time teaming up with four Disney-era Rangers–Ninja Storm’s Tori,Dino Thunder’s Kira,Mystic Force’s Xander, andS.P.D.’s Bridge.

Sky became S.P.D.’s Earth Base’s Commander, with Bridge becoming the new Red Ranger.

“Always A Ranger” took many by surprise by having Bridge show up as theS.P.D.Red Ranger, a role that had belonged to Jack and Sky inPower RangersS.P.D.Although it would have made more sense to have either Jack or Sky as Red inOperation Overdrive, seeing four Disney Rangers teaming up with anMMPRicon was a lot of fun.Disney’s seasons were mostly standalone and self-contained, which is why this crossover was such a big deal.

5The Legendary Rangers In Power Rangers Super Megaforce

“Legendary Battle”

Power RangersSuper Megaforceis often listed as one of the worst seasons of the show, particularly because of how much potential it had compared to what it delivered. The failure of the “Legendary Battle,” a crossover that was supposed to honor 20 years ofPower Rangers, is the best example of it. Way too short and full of inconsistencies,“Legendary Battle” did not live up to the expectationsset up by itsSuper Sentaicounterpart.

Power Rangers’ Version Of The Avengers’ Portals Scene Happened 5 Years Before Endgame

Five years before the Avengers fought Thanos and his army in Endgame, the Power Rangers universe had its own version of the iconic “portals scene.”

That being said, seeing characters such as Cassie, T.J., Leo, Dana, and Carter back after years was exciting, even if for only a couple of very brief scenes.Power Rangerscould have done a much better job with the “Legendary Battle,” but that doesn’t exclude the fact that the returns of characters from the 1990s and early 2000s were very cool.

4Jason In Power Rangers Beast Morphers

“Grid Connection”

Power RangersBeast Morpherscame out at a time when the franchise had somewhat moved on from the originalMMPRcharacters, with only Tommy being more of a recurrent figure in crossovers and special seasons likeDino Thunder. This is why seeing Jason back in his Red Ranger form in “Grid Connection” was so fun.It had been 16 years since the original Red Ranger last appeared on screen, at least without his helmet.

AfterMMPR,Dino Thunder, andDino Charge,Power Rangerswould still have another dinosaur-themed season, 2021’sDino Fury.

Jason’s role in “Grid Connection” was brief, although he did get to fight a new version of classicMMPRvillain Goldar. “Grid Connection” was also a “dino crossover,” with Rangers fromMighty Morphin,Dino Thunder, andDino Chargeall teaming up. AlthoughJason’s old team was technically there, none of them removed their helmets, meaning that the original Red Ranger was the only proper cameo.

3Lord Zedd In Power Rangers Dino Fury

Multiple Episodes

Lord Zedd was the main villain ofPower Rangers Cosmic Fury, but before that, he appeared in a couple of episodes ofPower Rangers Dino Fury. Returning over 20 years after his last appearance on the show, Lord Zedd elevated an already fun season and madeDino Furyinto a legacy sequel toMMPR. WhileDino Furydid not worry too much about how Zedd could be back after being purified by the Z-Wave in 1998, the classicPower Rangersvillain stole the show.

In BOOM! Studios’Power Rangerscanon, Lord Zedd is from the same planet and species as Zordon.

Zedd’s return brought the show full circle, particularly because he also returned inCosmic Fury, which is currently the final entry in thePower Rangerschronology. Considering that Lord Zedd was technically the first villain ofMighty Morphin Power Rangers– Rita was working for her after all – seeing him back almost 30 years after his introduction in the original show made for a great cameo.

2Mick In Power Rangers Cosmic Fury

Power Rangers Cosmic Furywas full of cameosand special returns, including Billy Cranston. However, considering that the original Blue Ranger was a recurrent character in the season, it would be unfair to label him as a cameo. Mick Kanick, on the other hand, was a fun surprise inPower Rangersseason 30. While Kelson Henderson had been involved in thePower Rangersuniverse for years, Mick was arguably his best character in the franchise.

Power Rangers’ New Ranger Color Pays Off An 18-Year-Old Joke In The Best Way

Power Rangers’ newest team includes a never-before-used Power Ranger color and pays off a hilarious prediction from the fan-favorite season S.P.D.

Ninja Steelwas not a great season, but Mick was a great supporting character. After appearing for an episode inDino Fury, the tech genius who has a fix to every problem showed up in the opening battle of Cosmic Fury. With the help of the Morphin Masters,Mick was given powers and was able to morph into the Red Ninja Steel Ranger. He would make a couple of other appearances on the season and even joined the Rangers in battle twice.

1Heckyl In Power Rangers Cosmic Fury

Power Rangers Cosmic Furywent all in with cameos and even redeemed the Power Ranger that never was fromDino Charge. Once a villain due to his evil alter ego that took over, Heckyl was written very much like a character who was supposed to become a Power Ranger. However, while there was aSuper SentaiRanger counterpart to Heckyl in a movie,Dino Chargewas not able to use iton the show.

Heckyl had previously appeared as the Dark Ranger in BOOM! Studios’Beyond The Gridarc.

By the timeCosmic Furyhappened, the Dark Ranger could finally be used in the American series. Not only didCosmic Furybring Heckyl from another universeto help the Rangers against Lord Zedd, but it also showed him as the Dark Ranger. Heckyl’s role inCosmic Furywas brief, but it at least madePower Rangersfans' wish come true.
