Pokémon Center, the official online retail home of thePokémonfranchise, has undergone a restock, introducing 30 different plush toys - but fans of Flareon may have to wait a little longer. Having recentlydeclared 2025 the “year of Eevee,“the Pokémon Center is celebrating everyone’s favorite irregularly evolving Pokémon: Eevee. Unlike most Pokémon, who typically evolve in a fixed procession from one form to the next, Eevee can instead transform into one of eight elemental forms (affectionately called Eeveelutions) according to the player’s choice. As such, the various Eeveelutions have become player favorites for their variability.
And now,you may take home a brand new plushie of your very favorite Eeveelution - unless you like Flareon, in which case, you’re out of luck. The Pokémon Center has released a new set of adorable Eevee plushies. At seven inches tall, they’re distinct from other Eevee/Eeveelution plushies available through the site in that they’re much smaller and much cuter. With disproportionately massive heads, they stand on stubby little legs to support their stout, asymmetrical bodies. They cover seven of the eight Eeveelutions - Vaporeon, Espeon, Jolteon, Sylveon, Glaceon, Umbreon, and Leafeon, along with regular old Eevee - but Flareon is nowhere to be found.

The New Eevee Plushies Are Irresistibly Adorable
But What Happened To Flareon?
The full lineup of new Eevee plushies is pictured above. They differ from other Eevee merch available via the Pokémon Center intheirprioritization of cutenessover perfect game accuracy. This follows a recent trend emerging inPokémonplushies, as suggested by the recent release ofchibi-style renditions ofScarlet and Violet’s Legendaries. Again, almost every single Eeveelution is covered here, as is the original, unevolved Eevee, with the sole exception of Flareon.

The first Community Day of 2025 in Pokémon GO focuses on Sprigatito, and provides bonuses making it worthwhile for all players to participate in it.
There’s also an impressive amount of variation between the various Eeveelution plushes. Although they all originate from the same Pokémon, each Eeveelution has different features from the next: certain headpieces, ear shapes, eye shapes, crowns, fur tufts, and other adornments. And although it’s abundantly clear by their matching body type that each of these eight products comes from the same line, those differences are perfectly portrayed across the eight different plushies.

As of the time of writing, the Umbreon plush is already sold out. But still, Umbreon fans can rest easy knowing they’ll probably see a restock soon, while Flareon fans are left completely in the dark.
Those differences might provide a hint as to why there’s no new Flareon plush just yet. Its main distinguishing characteristics are tufts of fur: one around its collar, one atop its head, and one massive one that makes up its big, bushy tail. These wouldn’t really come across correctly with the flatter, shorter-haired fabricthat’s used on the other Eeveelution plushies, so the plushie designers may be looking for another solution while releasing the rest of the Eeveelution line.

Our Take: The New Eeveelution Plushies Are Adorable
Even Without Flareon
As disappointing as it is to see Flareon left out of the mix, I’m thrilled at the design of these new Eeveelution plushies. I’ve spoken at length before on my strongly-held conviction thatPokémonplushies should always be cute - realism is fine for figurines, models, whatever, but soft, stuffed toys should prioritize huggability. If for no other reason than that, these new Eeveelution toys are a worthy addition to the merch line-up. I’ll miss Flareon for now, but there’s a good chance it’ll show up in a laterPokémonmerch launch somewhere down the line.
