Oscar Isaac lent his voice to the role of Spider-Man 2099 inMarvel’s hit animated filmSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and new art sees the actor imagined in the role in live-action.Isaac has been a celebrated performer in Hollywood since breaking through as the title character in the Coen brothers’Inside Llewyn Davis.Since then, he has played major franchise roles such as Apocalypse inX-Men: Apocalypseand Poe Dameon inStar Wars. However, lending his voice to Miguel O’Hara might be his most interesting performance yet.
Some recently shared art bybluuclonewas posted onInstagram, wherethe concept artist created a mockup for what the actor might have looked like in a live-action version of the role. Isaac’s face looks perfect on this rendition of Miguel O’Hara, and the suit, too, feels like a perfect translation of what was seen in the animated film.

The comments attached to the post are enthusiastic, with many praising the work that the artist did. Others note the incredible physique suggested by the art, with one user commenting,“Every day is trap day for this guy”. Seeing Isaac envisioned as a live-action take on the character that still feels true to the animated version is very interesting. The actor would clearly make an excellent Miguel if the studio decided to move forward with a live-action iteration.
What The Oscar Isaac Live-Action Spider-Man 2099 Art Means
Oscar Isaac Already Looks Like The Animated Miguel O’Hara
One thing that stands out from this image is how much it resembles the version of Spider-Man 2099 that was actually seen in the film. Whilebluuconementions in their post that this art was made before seeing the film, the concept and the face are a striking resemblance to the version of the character inAcross the Spider-Verse. Not only does this make the art all the more interesting, it also underlines what an effective live-action casting the voice actor could indeed be later down the line.
Across the Spider-Verseblurred the line between animation and live-action, with appearances by both in the film.Donald Glover’sSpider-Versecameoas Prowler was perhaps the best example of this, but it seems that Sony may have plans to expand their universe even further after this animated trilogy. Seeing the integration of live-action and animation being examined and explored in the way these films have done it is clearly called to mind by this excellent concept art.

Our Take On The Oscar Isaac Live-Action Spider-Man 2099 Art
Sony May Be Planning More Spider-Verse Spinoffs
This fan art is an excellent piece of concept work that I believe shows how easily Oscar Isaac could play Miguel O’Hara in live-action after lending his voice to the character. With the new DC Universe set to integrate live-action and animation into the same series, I can’t help but wonder if Sony may be considering doing the same thing. While this art is only a fan project, spinningSpider-Man: Across theSpider-Verseoff into live-action stories could be a logical next step for Sony, especially with such compelling actors already at hand for prospective castings.
