The Guest Stars Can Be A Bit Much
It’s hard to fault the Hulu series for wanting to continue a formula that has worked. It is one of the most consistent hits on streaming, regularly appearing in Nielsen’s Top 10 charts while also generally appealing to critics. But the influx of big stars into theOnly Murders in the Buildingcastis distracting, including a clunky cameo from Oscar-winning director Ron Howard. It takes away, at least for me, some of the narrow focus and the underrated character actors that made the first season such a pleasant surprise. Still, on a positive note, new episodes are on track to be released later this year.
