One Pieceseason 3 is set to cover the rest of the Arabasta saga, meaning we already know what season 4 of the Netflix live-action show will be about if it happens. WhileOne Pieceseason 3 has yet to be announced by Netflix, a third season seems all but confirmed by this point. This would explain why the producers ofOne Piecelive-action, including Eiichiro Oda, were comfortable with saving Arabasta for the next season. One Pieceseason 2will stop at Drum Island, suggesting that the conclusion of the Arabasta saga will only happen in season 3.
One Pieceseason 1 covered East Blue in its entirety, although the Loguetown segment had to be saved for the second season. Therefore, many assumed that season 2 was going to cover Arabasta, the secondOne Piecesaga, from start to finish. This is why Oda’s message revealingwhich arcsOne Pieceseason 2 was going to coverwas so surprising. In hindsight,it makes sense for Netflix’sOne Pieceto save Arabasta for season 3, although this means that the next major saga will only start in season 4.

If One Piece Season 3 Is Definitely Covering Arabasta, Season 4 Will Be Skypiea
One Piece Season 3 Is Expected To Conclude The Arabasta Saga
During an interview withCerealkillerz, actor Vincent Regan, who playsGarp in Netflix’sOne Piece, revealed that he believes season 3 is covering what is called “the Arabasta saga.” This is further confirmation thatOne Pieceseason 2 will end with Drum Island, leaving the battle against Crocodile and his followers in the Kingdom of Arabasta for season 3. Assuming the war for Arabasta makes for the entirety of season 3,One Pieceseason 4 would get to cover Skypiea and the rest of the Sky Island saga.
Skypiea was teased in Netflix’sOne Pieceseason 1, episode 6 when Nami tells Zoro the tale of Mont Blanc Noland.

While the Arabasta saga technically refers to everything that happens from the moment the Straw Hats enter the Grand Line to when they bid farewell to Vivi, the actual battle against Crocodile and the strongestBaroque Works membersonly happens toward the very end. Given how long the Arabasta arc is, it makes sense to save an entire season for it. The logical next step in the story would be Skypiea, which is whenLuffy and his friends find a lost city floating above the clouds and meet a man who claims to be a god.
One Piece Season 4’s Skypiea Arc Will Be Different To Everything That Came Before
Skypiea Is One Of The Most Unique (& Important) One Piece Arcs
Not only is Skypia different enough from Arabasta to justify them being covered in separate seasons, but it is also unlike anything that Netflix’sOne Piecewill show up until season 3. Although the Arabasta saga is fun and teases some of the secrets of theOne Pieceworld – particularly through Crocodile’s goals and Miss All Sunday’s role in the Baroque Works –it is still a relatively grounded story compared to Skypiea.
One Piece Season 2 Will Begin An Usopp Story The Manga Took A Quarter Of A Century To Pay Off
One Piece season 2 will adapt one of Usopp’s most character-defining stories for live-action - one the manga took more than 20 years to resolve.
Between a lost city of gold that defies gravity and a self-proclaimed god, Skypiea should be a difficult arc for Netflix’sOne Pieceto adapt. In addition to all the fantastical, larger-than-life aspects of Skypiea, the Sky Island saga foreshadows a lot of themes and symbolisms that continue to be important inOne Pieceas Oda’s manga reaches its conclusion. Netflix’sOne Piecewill have long found its identity by the time it gets to a potential season 4, and it will be interesting to see what the show’s version of Skypiea will be like.
