WARNING: SPOILERS FORONE PIECEEPISODE #1119
The extremely powerfulMarine AdmiralsofOne Piece’s world each represent a form of Justice, but the final saga of Eiichiro Oda’s story has officially pushed one of them too far. When Admirals were first introduced to the story, they represented an unstoppable level of strength that took Luffy years to reach, but the complex characters have proven that even they have limits to which orders they will follow.
DuringOne Piece’s time skip, the Marine Admiral hierarchy saw a considerable shakeup when ice-user Kuzan and magma-user Sakazuki fought for the role of Fleet Admiral. The 10-day battle saw Sakazuki earn the role, and Kuzan resigned from the Marines, leaving two Admiral positions needing to be filled. Those positions went to forest man Aramaki (Ryokugyu) and the blind gravity manipulator Issho (Fujitora), but episode #1119 ofOne Pieceeffectively demonstrated that Issho’s Justice could no longer be blind.

The Vile Acts Of The Celestial Dragons Begs The Reconsideration Of Justice
Celestial Dragons Have Been Ruling The World For Over 800 Years
DuringOne Piece’s final arcs, Luffy’s dad, Monkey D. Dragon, has led the Revolutionary Army in a campaign against the World Government and the cruel Celestial Dragons that rule it. Their plans led to an infiltration of the Celestial Dragon’s home of Mary Geoise, where they planned to free Kuma and as many slaves as possible. However, the operation was met with considerable opposition when Admirals Fujitora and Ryokugyu arrived to protect the entitled residents. But when it came time to fight the revolutionaries attempting to free slaves, Issho couldn’t help but reconsider which side the good guys were.
“After betraying the orders of the Celestial Dragons, they may want to make an example of Issho…”

Revolutionaries were successful in destroying food supplies and breaking the chains of many enslaved people in their mission before the two Admirals arrived. Ryokugyu has had no issues following orders with his support of Absolute Justice, where he believes in the Celestial Dragons' right to subjugate. However, Fujitora’s practice of Humane Justice to protect human life put him in a tough spot during the Revolutionary assault on Mary Geoise. To fight for what he believed in,Issho actively fought against Ryokugyu and the desires of the World Government to help save lives, and it was not the first time.
Issho’s Humane Justice Does Not Cooperate With The Celestial Dragon Ideals
Issho is an incredibly talented blind swordsman capable of bringing meteors down from the sky, but he was not born blind. His long career as a marine likely forced him to witness many horrific acts of violence that dramatically challenged his belief in Humane Justice. As demonstrated during his actions on Dressrosa, his dedication to protecting innocent lives has directly conflicted with the World Government’s decisions that have ordered the deaths of civilians under the guise of being for the greater good. After seeing enough of these actions, he created the two scars on his face that took his sight.
Luffy made a considerable impression on Admiral Fujitora after helping save the people of Dressrosa and proving to the high-ranking marine that he was a good person. The events of that arc also proved to Issho that the Warlords of the Sea program invited too much corruption and harming of innocents to continue, making him one of the most substantial reasons for the group’s abolishment. Still, his acts of defiance and failure to captureLuffy’s Straw Hat pirate crewon Dressrosa had already soured Issho’s reputation with Fleet Admiral Sakazuki, and his assistance of the Revolutionaries surely did not help.

What Happened To Admiral Fujitora After Mary Geoise
If Issho Is No Longer An Admiral, Someone New May Need To Fill The Position
The anime demonstrated Issho’s resistance against Ryokugyu more thoroughly, but neither it nor Eiichiro Oda’s manga showed how or if the blind swordsman escaped from Mary Geoise. However, if he didn’t make it out, his betrayal and the fact that his beliefs directly oppose the will of the World Government, he may give the recently embarrassed World Leaders an outlet for their frustrations.
After betraying the orders of the Celestial Dragons, they may want to make an example of Issho to reestablish the World Government’s dominance over the Marines. The leaders of the Celestial Dragons are preparing to take things up a notch and work much harder to stomp out rebellion. Still, many officers' beliefs were shaken after Dr.Vegapunk’s message sparked doubt that the World Government had the world’s population’s best interests in mind. But with all of the chaos, there is a chance that the Admiral escapedto hear another day.

One Piece’s Big Villains Are Being Defeated in the Best and Most Realistic Way
After ruling One Piece’s world for hundreds of years, the Celestial Dragons are getting a taste of their medicine thanks to the Revolutionaries.
It’s unclear where Issho would go after escaping Mary Geoise, but if he fully turned against the Celestial Dragons, he may team up with the Revolutionary Army, who is working to topple the World Government and prohibit slavery that’s ruined countless lives for centuries. There is also the chance that Luffy’s actions have inspired the recently disgraced Admiral to assist in theStraw Hat’s quest to find the One Piece. Either way, it’s a safe bet that Issho will reappear, and his form of Justice will save even more lives beforeOne Pieceends.
