The series essentially follows an orphaned demon hunter named Dante, who can be seen in action in the newest trailer. Netflix’s official synopsis for the series reads:

Clearly,Devil May Cryshares many elements in common with some of the most popular anime at the moment, such asSolo LevelingandDemon Slayer, but Studio Mir’s involvement hints that the series could be an entirely new visual experience that fans are used to.

Moreover, while Madhouse also adaptedDevil May Cryinto an anime way back in 2007, Netflix and Studio Mir’s new upcoming version is already shaping up to be a bit different in terms of its story. The new trailer includes an interesting cameo by a character from the recent manga in the form of the White Rabbit seen towards the end. Dante’s outfit is also an interesting amalgamation of elements from various versions of the game, hinting that Netflix’sDevil May Crycould be the perfect encapsulation of the franchise as a whole.
