The trailer forOn Callintroduces the latest police procedural fromLaw & Ordercreator Dick Wolf. Set to debut on Prime Video in the new year,On Callis described as an“adrenalized and visceral” drama. Itfollows a rookie and veteran officer duo who go on patrol in Long Beach, California, incorporating bodycam footage, dash-camera, and cellphone footage to form a distinctive visual experience. Prime Videohas now released the trailer forOn Call, ahead ofthe global premiere of all eight episodes on January 9. The two-minute trailer is set to a version of “God’s Gonna Cut You Down,” which was originally made famous by Johnny Cash. It largely focuses on the dynamic between Bellisario and Larracuente’s characters, suggesting that the latter may not be ready to take on the high-tension job. Watch it below:

The upcoming series is created by Tim Walsh and Elliot Wolf, who is Dick Wolf’s son, withBurn Notice’s Ben Watkins as showrunner. Each episode ofOn Callwill track the leading duo, Traci Harmon (Bellisario) and Alex Diaz (Larracuente), as they respond to cases and attempt to solve them. It’s a departure for both, withformerPretty Little LiarsstarBellisario playing a hardened veteran detective, whileThe Good Doctoractor Larracuente is fresh on the job.

The trailer does tease out some of the cases that Harmon and Diaz will be involved with, as they chase after criminals. But it is also very focused on the relationship between the two partners. Harmon is reluctant to open up, though she asks for loyalty from Diaz. He promises to give her that. But in another scene,one of the characters says that Harmon can’t be trusted.
