Although Nintendo has not officially confirmed anything, a YouTube channel called SwitchUp has shared a detailed 3D-printed model of theNintendo Switch 2, which they claim comes from a Chinese case manufacturer. This isn’t the first time a 3D model has been shared, but this one stands out due to its high level of detail and the source’s apparent access to design plans.
As shared bywccftech, the video on theSwitchUpYouTube channel compares the 3D model to the current Nintendo Switch OLED model, showing significant differences in size, screen dimensions, and controller design. The alleged new Switch 2 model is noticeably larger than the OLED model, featuring a bigger screen with only slightly larger bezels.

The accompanying screen protector for the Switch 2 is also much larger than the OLED. While the layout of ports and buttons is mostly the same, a key difference is that the USB-C port has moved to the top of the console instead of the bottom. The Joy-Con controllers are larger as well and may have a new button on the right controller, potentially serving as a capture button.
Is This Really What Switch 2 Will Look Like?
It Looks Like It Was Professionally Made
Nintendo istaking a while to reveal the Switch 2, butthe reliability of this leak is based on the 3d model coming from a case manufacturer that has access to the design blueprints. This means that the design might be more trustworthy than typical rumors. The fact that there is a detailed 3D-printed model and a screen protector that fits adds to its credibility. Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, the detailed information and the inside source make this leak seem more believable than past rumors.
Nintendo Switch 2 Will Never Have Its Breath Of The Wild Moment
The Nintendo Switch 2 will likely be an amazing console, but Nintendo has proven it won’t have a game as industry-defining as Breath of the Wild.
As noted in a YouTube comment fromEpicRegalia,SwitchUp doesn’t talk about Switch 2 rumors at all, so the channel choosing to dedicate a video to this 3D mock-up helps assert its position as “the most concrete evidence” yet. SwitchUp is generally considered a reliable major channel that doesn’t focus on speculation, making it unlikely that the video would be intentionally misleading. There are changes in screen size, Joy-Con controller design, and the position of the USB-C port that suggest a more comfortable and possibly more powerful device, which means it’s a major upgrade over the current Switch models.

Our Take: A Good Design For Switch 2?
This Looks Like An Improvement
I think the alleged new design for the Nintendo Switch 2 has a lot of potential. The bigger screen and better ergonomics are nice upgrades, especially since the original Switch has a small screen and cramped Joy-Cons. The video comparing the console’s size to the Steam Deck was great because the Switch needed a bigger screen. I like to use the Switch on my TV because of how small the screen is, which is definitelynot one of the system’s strong suits.
The visuals look good for this mock-up, but we also need to consider things like the weight and build quality, which we don’t know much about yet, and that really makes a difference in the end. However, Nintendo seems to have made the screen larger without making the console too bulky. Moving the USB-C port to the top would make charging much easier while playing. I’m always afraid I’ll bend the cord wrong with the regular Switch, so that’s a big bonus for theNintendo Switch 2. Overall, this could be a great design for the system if it ends up being accurate.
