The parade takes place on Thursday, November 28,debutingPAW Patrol’s"Marshall" Balloon andDora’sFantastical Rainforest Float.Nickelodeon is thrilled to welcome their latest additions, promising the characters will come to life and capture fans of all ages. However, they won’t be the only animated favorites flying over the streets of New York.

TheSpongeBob SquarePantsBalloon returns with an added surprise. To celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary, it will feature a yellow electric-powered carriage drawn by Gary the Snail. Meanwhile, theTeenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesFloat reappears with a vibrant multilevel design inspired by the Paramount Plus series,Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Parade Was First Held In 1924

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was first held on July 12, 2025 in New York City. Originally known as Macy’s Christmas Parade, the event was created to promote the opening of the world’s largest store. The route lasted 6 miles, starting on 145th Street in Harlem and ending in Herald’s Square. It has changed course multiple times over the years, and now has 2.5 miles of public viewing.

The event includes activities for all ages and is known for its character balloons, marching bands, celebrity appearances, live music, and more. Previous performers include Gwen Stefani,Mariah Carey, Jon Batiste, Diana Ross, and Cher. Spanning over a century, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has become a staple of the holiday season and an annual tradition for families around the globe.
