My Hero Academiaseason 7, episode #20is set to return focus to Himiko Toga and her Sad Man’s Death Parade, which has become a major problem for the heroes. With Uraraka able to single out the real Toga among all the Twice doubles, she has an opportunity to confront this problem at its source, but a fight may not be what’s needed to bring this to an end.

Episode #19 was effectively split into two halves, with the first half focusing on All for One, as he attempts to make it to Shigaraki’s location and give his remaining power over, making him even more unstoppable than he already is. With very few heroes able to intercept him, the taskseemingly fell to Shoto Todoroki, until All Might told him to rush over to Dabi’s location and focus on defeating his brother. All Might himself took a stand against All for One, using some advanced technology to help him gain an edge.

A split screen of All for One and Shigaraki.

The second half saw the Todoroki family confronting Dabi and doing what they could to prevent disaster as Shoto raced to the scene. It was a highly emotional moment as the fractured family came together, all determined to share the same fate.

What Happened in My Hero Academia, Season 7, Episode #19?

The Todoroki Family Comes Together

The episode opened with the central command of the battle picking up indications that Dabi was about to explode, and that one of the evacuation pods (coincidentally, the one containing the Todoroki family) was stalled on the tracks to Shiketsu and couldn’t be moved outside of Dabi’s blast radius. Additionally, All for One was en route to Shigaraki, threatening to combine their powers and make him unbeatable. With Shoto and Ida among the only ones who could potentially stop All for One, it seemed the choice was made for them, but All Might encouraged them to head to Dabi’s location, taking All for One on himself.

The evacuees were brought to the surface to be taken elsewhere, butthe Todoroki family instead decidedto head into the heart of the flames to do what they could to prevent Dabi’s explosion, knowing the risks. Rei, Fuyumi, and Natsuo tried desperately to cool him down with their ice powers, buying enough time for Shoto and Ida to arrive from miles away. Shoto used his Great Glacial Aegir and overpowered the explosion, saving everyone’s lives–but he couldn’t have done it alone. Dabi seems to be down for good, and only too late realized what it was he really wanted all this time.

a hopeful vision of Dabi’s of what the Todoroki family reunion could’ve been like.

My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode #20 Explores a Girl’s Ego

Uraraka Confronts Toga to End Her Attack

My Hero AcademiaSeason 7, Episode #20 is entitled “A Girl’s Ego,” and appears to focus primarily onToga, as her onslaught of Twice doubles continuesto be a problem at several of the battlefields. Uraraka manages to identify the real Toga and goes to confront her, hoping to find a way to peacefully end this situation, without having to kill. The next episode preview showcased many shots which seemed to be memories from Toga, suggesting that Uraraka may actually be getting through to her in spite of the odds against it.

The next episode preview surprisingly didn’t show anything besides Uraraka and Toga, suggesting that they will make up the focal point of the episode, with anything else only to be seen briefly. That leaves All Might’s situation as quite a cliffhanger, given he was last seen equipping some crazy new technology with which he intends to fight All for One. With the end of the season quickly approaching, one can only hope that the focus will return to All Might before all is said and done.

Toga’s disguise as Twice begins to fail, revealing part of her face.

My Hero Academia’s final war is at last starting to see some resolutions, but with the season’s end so close, a lot of things are looking to be left hanging for the eighth (and presumably final) season of the series.
