AfterMonster Hunter Wilds' staggeringly successful release week, a recurring franchise staple has begun once again. The first two event quests have been released forMonster HunterWilds, starting off the now-perpetual event quest rotation. With the ever-inventiveMonster Hunternaming conventions, the first two quests are Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo and Stalking Supper.

Event Quests are temporary quests that can be undertaken by hunters. Often, these quests are tied to holiday events, crossovers, and limited cosmetics (as is the case for Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo), but they also have a fantastic alternative use: targeted farms. Stalking Supper is a fantastic cooking ingredient farm that should absolutely be completed during its limited run.

How To Unlock & Start The Stalking Supper Event

The First Of Many Event Quests To Come

Stalking Supper, being an event quest, can be found in the event quest tab while speaking to Alma. As of now, there are only two possible quests here — Stalking Supper and Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo — but the quest list alternates each week, with most of theMonster Hunter Wilds March event quest schedule already released. Stalking Supper functions as a proper optional quest. In other words, accepting and embarking on the quest transports you to a specific instance. In this case, that’s the Plains in a Plenty (nighttime variant).

To actually undertake the quest, you need to be at least HR 9. Also note that this quest will leave the list on March 11th. Beyond these restrictions, accepting and embarking on the quest is standardMonster Hunterfare. As such, the quest can be repeated as long as it’s on the event schedule. With the rewards on offer for Stalking Supper, I certainly encourage a couple of completions at the very least.

How To Beat & Farm The Quematrice

Tips For Farming Quematrice Painlessly

Unlike some of the more creative event quests which will surely make their way intoWilds, Stalking Supper has a pretty basic quest objective: hunt a Quematrice. No tempered, frenzied, guardian, or crowned variant here, just a typical Quematrice. While this monster isn’t particularly notable, with the fantastic quest rewards on offer, optimizing your hunt can still be valuable, especially if you plan on undertaking Stalking Supper more than once.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Fishing Guide (Missions, Locations, & Lures)

Greatly expanded from previous entries, the fishing in Monster Hunter Wilds has several advantages when it comes to farming rare materials and money.

I’ve found thatimmediately targeting Quematrice’s tail is the most effective strategyfor a painless hunt. Much of the monster’s threatening moves are related to its tail’s ability to cause explosions. The tail, along with the head, also take bonus damage, meaning that after the tail has been cut, moving on the head is the next best option. Lastly, using water element weapons is the cherry on top. Using both strategies creates an efficient and easy hunt — perfect for accomplishing a continued grind. As always, upgrading your weapons and armor inMonster Hunter Wildsis a safe bet for improving efficiency as well.

One Of The Best Ingredient Farms In MH Wilds

Don’t letMonster Hunter Wilds' disappointing lack of marketable Palico chefsfool you; cooking is still very much a feature, and very much advised. Cooking now lasts a set amount of time, as opposed to a singular hunt. As such, using rare ingredients is much more valuable, as the effects of that well-crafted meal can last through multiple different hunts. Getting those rare ingredients inMonster Hunter Wilds, however, is not easy.

Best Ingredients For The Strongest Meals In Monster Hunter Wilds

You’ll do all your own cooking in Monster Hunter Wilds, and the ingredients you use in your pre-hunt snacks determine the stat boosts you get.

Stalking Supper is the perfect, albeit temporary, solution to the ingredient scarcity inWilds. Most of Stalking Supper’s quest rewards are nothing special, including the standard Quematrice crafting materials and decorations. What makes this quest notable is the host of ingredients that have also found a place on the quest’s rewards list. In particular, the Stalking Supper quest list includes Kunafa Cheese, Sharp Kunafa Cheese, Wild Herb, and Wild Seed Oil.

If your food buff ever expires mid-hunt, use the portable cooking grill to re-apply the invaluable buffs.

The two Kunafa Cheeses serve as additional touches to a custom cooking recipe. Both offer the Defender Meal buff, a highly defensive effect that sometimes reduces your damage taken. Wild Seed Oil and Wild Herb are both finishing touches:Wild Seed Oil buffs the effectiveness of your status effects, such as poison and paralysis, whileWild Herb reduces the effects of received ailments. Both have their uses: Wild Seed Oil is effective in status builds, while Wild Herb can be fantastic against ailment-heavy monsters like the classic Rathalos.

With the normally esoteric means of acquiring cooking ingredients, Stalking Supper is a nice change of pace. While it’s not the most exciting quest by any means, its simplicity and useful rewards make slaying the Quematrice more than worth the time investment. If you find yourself endlessly searching throughMonsterHunter Wildsmaps for your next hunt, consider throwing in a Stalking Supper hunt or two.
