What This Means For Mickey 17
It Has Better Box Office Prospects Now
WhileMickey 17’s release date has been changed yet again, the new release potentially sets the movie up for better box office success. Between Pattinson’s immense star power and this being Bong’s first movie since the critically acclaimed and Academy Award-winningParasitewas released in 2019,Mickey 17has the appeal to become a box office hit. However, movies that release in late January and early February do not tend to be box office juggernauts.
Parasitewon four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros.‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, andReady Player Oneall had strong box office debuts when opening during Easter weekend.Mickey 17has the chance to follow in their footsteps with the new release date, especially with it being available to watch the imaginative and satirical science-fiction story in IMAX theaters worldwide. Based on the first trailer and what has been teased so far,Mickey 17will be astrange science-fiction moviethat is best experienced in theaters, preferably in IMAX.
Our Take On Mickey 17’s New Release Date
It Is Likely For The Best
Mickey 17has been one of my most anticipated movies since it was first announced, and my enthusiasm only escalated after seeing the first trailer. While I am disappointed that the release date has been delayed again, this change does seem to be in the movie’s best interest. It has the potential to be another one ofRobert Pattinson’s best movies sinceTwilight, withMickey 17being one of his weirdest and most memorable roles yet that will be worth the wait to see in theaters.
