With one of the biggest IPs in the world behind it,Marvel Rivalshad the tools needed to rule over the hero shooter genre and has taken that chance with both hands, with over 20 million people playing the game. Although there are some flaws here and there,Marvel Rivalsis a great game, with fun characters and a super expressive art style that feels like a blend ofOverwatchand explosions of color that look right out of a comic panel. In many ways,Rivalsfeels like the natural evolution the genre needed.
As with any online game, there are some justifiable complaints that can be thrownMarvel Rivals', such asthe balance of certain characters or the sometimes confusing map design. For the most part, these do not affect the fun of the game too much, and the super aggressive Iron Fist mains have become a popular meme on their own, but there are a few community issues taking away from the game that could affect its future. Other than a refusal from DPS players to change into someone more useful,Marvel Rivalshas a massive problem with its leaks.

Marvel Rivals' Leaks Are Getting Out Of Hand
Everywhere I Turn, I See More Rivals Leaks
If you have been playing the game for some time and have been indulging in some Jeff-posting,Luna Snowblasting Crazy by LE SSERAFIM, or’Jarvis, clip that’memes then it is safe to say thatMarvel Rivalshas taken over your various social media accounts, as it has mine. Aside from the memes, which have been glorious thus far, players will also be exposed to leaks whenever they open their phone, andMarvel Rivalsseems to have more than most. Leaks are par for the course with anything as big asRivals, but this is quite an ironic issue.
Luna Snow’s Absolute Zero is a great ability to freeze ulting enemies, and is particularly effective against Scarlet’s Witch’s ult.

Everything from skins to characters has been leaked, with art and even 3D models being posted online while these characters are still in development. This is a far cry from theMCUand its spoiler policy. Back in the heyday of theMCU, when Thanos snapped half the cast into dust and all three Spider-men got together, you would have to actively look for spoilers and leaks to ruin the films before they came out. Everyone, bar Tom Holland, was tight-lipped, butif you look atMarvel Rivals, it couldn’t be leaking more than it has.
It makes sense that people are actively leakingMarvel Rivalsmore than most other games, considering the interest behind the characters. I’m particularly excited to see what NetEase does with Hit-Monkey after falling in love and greatly fearing Jeff in equal amounts, but I would like to see what these characters do when they get added to the game. I would like there to be some surprises left when these heroes get added to the game, butit seems that NetEase can’t stay tight-lipped enough with Ultron’s addition in Season 1.

There Are No Surprises In Marvel Rivals
Ultron’s Entire Kit Has Been Leaked
Before even getting a reveal trailer to see what he’s all about, as was the case with many pre-release characters not in the beta, like Captain America,Ultron’s entire kit has been leaked and sharedon X byMarvel Rivals - Leaks & Info. Weirdly, one ofMarvel’s biggest bads is being made a Strategist, which I find odd given his usual size and that his body is typically made from a vibranium-adamantium alloy. Before the leak, I would have assumed he would have made a mean Vanguard character, but it seems NetEase has other ideas.
In theMCU,Ultron was only made from vibranium, since adamantium hadn’t been featured until afterAvengers: Age of Ultron.

Still, Ultron being a Strategist is far from the biggest problem. It might even encourage more peopleto play Strategist, given Ultron’s status and popularity, buthaving his entire kit leaked before he even has the chance to be shown off in a reveal trailer seems carelessto me. Rather than a flashy reveal with a proper look at Ultron’s 3D model, everything about him is shown off in a still image posted on X, and if you write articles about games or read a lot of information online about them, you will find information like this impossible to avoid.
Marvel Rivals: How To Turn Off Mouse Acceleration
A lot of Marvel Rivals players are looking for a way to turn off mouse acceleration in the game, while there isn’t an easy option, it is possible.
For such a large scale character, it just feels so anti-climatic, which is ironic givenhow cinematicMarvel Rivalshas been, especiallywith its tie-ins in references to theMCU. The worst part is thatif Ultron’s kit gets leaked online before NetEase has even said anything, it’s bound to happen again. Roles for other leaked characters have already been revealed on X unofficially, and it just seems like a shame that these characters won’t get the awesome reveal treatment that pre-release characters got. With the popularity of the game, I suppose it can’t be helped.

Marvel Rivals Is Overwatch’s Usurper
Even Non-Hero Shooter Fans Have An Interest In Marvel Rivals
Thanks to theMarvelIP,Rivalshas been able to skip over the massive hurdle of endearing people to the characters in its roster, which other hero shooters, likeConcord, suffered from. As someone who enjoyed theMCU,Fantastic 4animated series, and Fox’sX-Menfranchise up untilLogan, there is plenty for me to get excited about without taking into account the gameplay, which is also addictive. I love seeing what the designers have done with some of my favoriteMarvelcharacters, and it seems like most do too, given the20 million player count.
Marvel Rivals: Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival Event & Rewards Guide
The Winter Celebration event for Marvel Rivals has begun, with several cosmetic rewards you can earn through Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival mode!
While it does borrow a lot from theMCUwith certain skins and MVP animations (some of the animations are straight out from the films),I would like NetEase to also borrow how tight-lipped theMCUis with spoilers. I don’t want to know how a character plays before an announcement trailer, so I can enjoy seeing it first hand in motion. WatchingSquirrel Girlshoot acorns in her trailer was a hilarious surprise, but watching Ultron’s trailer will feel underwhelming, having already seen everything that he can do before he’s been officially announced.

It is odd seeing aMarvelproperty suffer from so many leaks after all the effort theMCUput into keeping its biggest moments a secret before its films hit theaters. With NetEase doing little in the way to address them, it seems that this will be the future ofMarvel Rivals, although it is a great sign that the game is getting plenty of traction online. It doesn’t take away from how fun the game is to play, although it does ruin the sense of surprise and excitement I get seeing new heroes in the game.
