Screen Rant: Why did you decide to apply for Married At First Sight?
Madison: I decided to apply forMarried at First Sightbecause I was tired of the dating scene in Chicago. The apps are useless and no one is serious about actual dating at least with the experiences I’ve had. I was not necessarily in a rush to get married but I knew I was ready to find someone to be with and I was hoping thatMarried at First Sightcould help me.
Allen: I saw the opportunity to be onMAFSthe same as a matchmaking service. Only a lot more effort and intensity went into finding a genuine match. The experts have a vested interest in putting the resources into finding someone who is genuinely compatible.

Screen Rant: What surprised you the most about the MAFS interview/screening process? Did it meet your expectations?
Madison: I couldn’t believe how lengthy the questionnaires were and how in-depth they really went. It honestly impressed me because it made me think they were really taking everything into consideration as they were picking people to match. I was even more surprised when Dr. Pia [Holec] asked me to draw a penis on a piece of paper during my interview with her…I didn’t see that one coming!
Allen: There really weren’t any surprises throughout the process as I didn’t really have any insight into how something like that works. If I had to say anything, it would be the extensive and deep questions they actually ask while at the same time touching on the more superficial ones, like looks and such. The process and effort they put into me, reassured me that they were doing the same for my partner and strongly considering the reasons for compatibility.
Screen Rant: What was the most important thing you were looking for in a partner?
Madison: I really was looking for someone who is emotionally intelligent and has done the work on themselves to know how to communicate and express their feelings. I feel like most problems can be solved by a simple conversation but most relationships fail because of lack of communication.
Allen: Someone with a genuine heart, considerate, loving, free spirited, and attraction definitely needs to be considered, and an openness to be vulnerable with in goal of truly getting to know each other as husband and wife.
Screen Rant: What are three words you’d use to describe your Married At First Sight experience?
Madison: Chaotic, beautiful, and unexpected.
Allen: All-consuming, difficult, and real.
Screen Rant: How has your outlook on MAFS changed since you’ve been part of the show?
Madison: I really respect previous cast members who also joined this community and put themselves out there because it is not an easy thing to do by any means.
Allen: It hasn’t.
Screen Rant: Is there anything you would change from what you were looking for a partner before you were matched up on MAFS?
Madison: I wish I had put more emphasis on the importance of lifestyle and overall likes/dislikes when being matched for a partner.
Allen: Not really, maybe be a little less flexible on age and reinforce the importance of some deal breakers.
Screen Rant: What’s one answer you gave that you think led the experts to match you with your MAFS spouse? Would you change that answer now?
Madison: I asked for someone who is emotionally intelligent which is a big reason why I think the experts matched me with my spouse. I would not change that answer now but maybe go into more of what that means for me and how I want to see that in a partner.
Allen: I’m certain there wasn’t one answer that led me to being matched. I think it was more my quirky and eclectic nature combined with a genuine intent to find something true.
