The New Expansion Arrives On July 07, 2025
Officially announced by publisher Wizards of the Coast,Duskmournreleases on June 17, 2025. As usual, there are a few other key dates to keep in mind for would-be House of Horror participants, however.Prerelease events for the set run from September 20th to 27th, while theMTG Arenarelease date ofDuskmournis actually three days ahead of its tabletop arrival, launching digitally on June 20, 2025. Those who want a sneak peek at the set before its full release can either attend events at their local game stores or boot up the digital client and enjoy some of the set’s Limited format.

Some of the specifics of these treatments are worth noting.Double Exposure cards are based off of classic horror photography, and come in two variants, either a purple/yellow contrast or a black/red one.Paranormal frames are meant to look like glitchy, old-school, 80s horror VHS tape presentations. Mirror monsters are extended arts that appear to each have something to do with reflections of some kind; samples have shown a monster emerging from an eye, a television, and through the shard of a mirror thus far.
Lurking evil cards are alternate arts of some cards inDuskmournthat have been subtly changed to include the hint of a monster lurking somewhere in the presentation. Japan Showcase cards are what they sound like - treatments meant to highlight Japanese-style art, created by Japanese artists.
Special Guests cards are a returning feature that bring back cards fromMagic’s past and give them new art treatments related to the plane; in this case,Duskmournmeans these cards will have a horror tinge to them. Finally, the Full-Art Manor lands are basic lands with the full art treatment, one for each basic, that show off a different location in the house of Duskmourn.
