The Partners Mirror Maddie & David’s Relationship In Moonlighting

Kaitlin Olson’s Morgan Gillory and Daniel Sunjata’s Adam Karadec leadHigh Potential, and their relationship parallels Cybill Shepherd’s Maddie Hayes and Bruce Willis' David Addison inMoonlighting.Just like the older pair, Morgan and Adam exude tension(whether the tension is romantic or platonic is yet to be determined) inOlson’s certified fresh procedural series. Plus, Morgan and Maddie are very similar in the fact that they are both technically outsiders to law enforcement who team up with the police to solve crimes. Will-They/Won’t-They Romances Are A Signature Trope In Procedural Shows

The sexual tension and will-they/won’t-they dynamic between Maddie and David inMoonlightingwas a large part of why it was a success. So, theIt’s Always Sunny in Philadelphiastar’s new detective series should continue the trendof the will-they/won’t-they trope with Morgan and Adam. Their slow-burn would undoubtedly entice more people to watch the crime drama on ABC (or Hulu). The good news is thatHigh Potentialis already planting the seeds for a romance between the two characters.

Part of what makes procedural TV shows so fun is the dynamics between the characters. In many cases, the dynamics are of a romantic nature and the tension results in a slow-burn.Almost every procedural series contains the slow-burn and will-they/won’t-they trope, likeCastleandBones, and that is why people keep tuning in each week. IfHigh Potentialsuccessfully executes this trope between Morgan and Adam, its viewers will keep coming back to see what happens to them and their blossoming relationship.

Will Morgan & Adam Get Together In High Potential (Like Maddie & David Did)?

Morgan & Adam Have Chemistry In High Potential

Based on the first handful of episodes ofHigh Potential, the possibility of Morgan and Adam becoming a couple is very high. The chemistry between Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata is there, and the tension between their two characters is evergrowing. The only thing that could stand in the way of a romance happening is if ABC cancels the procedural crime drama series. In this day and age of TV, especially network TV, more shows are being canceled than ever.High Potentialcould easily be one of the lucky ones, especially if it maintains its strong ratings and quality.
