Barry Keoghan hypes up the upcomingPeaky Blindersmovie. Originally a television series that ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2022, now aPeaky Blindersmovieis in development. Keoghan was recently announced to star alongsideDuneactor Rebecca Ferguson and returning series actor Cillian Murphy. Themovie will be directed by Tom Harper and written by Steven Knight. Keoghan’s character in the film is as of yet unknown.
Speaking withIndieWireat the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Keoghan provided an update surrounding the development of thePeaky Blindersfilm. Keoghan mentioned that he “read the script and loved it.” He also teased that he’s been talking to co-star Murphy about the film and that it is “going to be epic.” Keoghan did not provide any further details as to what content would be in said script nor what his character would be like. ThoughthePeaky Blindersmovie is getting more and more news attention between Keoghan’s casting and this tease, there is still a lot that remains unknown about the film. First of all, the only character for whom details have been confirmed is Murphy, who will be reprising his role as Tommy Shelby from the TV series. Even then, what Shelby is up to during the events of thePeaky Blindersfilm is unknown, as the plot of the feature film is also under wraps. ThePeaky Blindersseason 6 endingleft multiple storylines up in the air, so a lot could happen.

One thing to get excited about for thePeaky Blindersmovie is the reunion between Keoghan and Murphy. The two previously worked together on Christopher Nolan’s 2017 filmDunkirk. That said, the WWII movie had a massive ensemble, making it such that Murphy and Keoghan’s dynamic could not be on full display. In this movie, however, they will likely get more of a chance to interact, making for an exciting reunion. From the sounds of Keoghan’s most recent quote, he and Murphy’s working relationship is already coming along well.
Thepraise for the Peaky Blinders movies also means a lot coming from Keoghan. While the actor has been increasingly successful in recent years, his filmography has not included a ton of films thus far, but what he has done has often been outstanding.
