They could have had a daughter, and, since Maguire is 49, she could be old enough to become Spider-Girl. Maguire also alluded to back pains, suggesting he might be retiring soon.

However, meeting Mayday Parker could be what he needs to break him out of his shell.Mayday’s existence proves that Peter can successfully balance having personal relationships while still being Spider-Man. Mayday could convince him to find new friendships or rekindle old relationships, since she wouldn’t exist if Maguire’s Peter stuck to his original decision to leave Mary Jane out of his life. Holland is still committed to being a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, but also needs a healthy work-life balance to be truly happy.
