Alexandra Daddario has all the needed elements to bringWonder Womanto life in the newDC Universeand make her performance as memorable as the character deserves. At one point, it seemed like Gal Gadot’s version of Diana Prince would survive the end of theDCEU’s movie timeline. The actress even claimed that she was going to develop a new film for the character with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. However, the news thatWonder Woman 3had been canceledwould be followed by reports thatGadot’s claims were unfounded.

More reports about the DCU’s future would come out as time passed, such as the reveal that the entire cast of 2017’sJustice Leaguewould not reprise their roles in the new franchise. Henry Cavill was replaced by David Corenswet as Superman; Jason Momoa recently announced that he had traded Aquaman for Lobo, and the rest of the actors seem done with DC.Wonder Woman’s DCU recastinghas been addressed by Gunn, who claimed thatDiana Prince had not yet been castwhen rumors emerged about her appearing inCreature Commandos. The door is open for Daddario as Wonder Woman.

Alexandra Daddario Would Love To Be In A Wonder Woman Movie

The Actress Is Often Fancast For Exciting DC Characters

I have long wanted Daddario to join the DCU. The actress has been constantly suggested for many DC roles over the years, with Wonder Woman and Zatanna emerging as the two most popular picks for who she could play. Daddario has talked on multiple occasions about how she would be happy to become part of a live-action superhero franchise, with the actress having reportedly been one of those whoscreen-tested for the title role of Netflix’sJessica Jones. While she could have been great at Marvel, I always thought Daddario would be fitting for Wonder Woman.

Casting Alexandra Daddario In James Gunn’s DCU - 10 Perfect DC Characters For The Percy Jackson Star

Alexandra Daddario has been fancast as many DC characters over the years, and the popular pick for Wonder Woman would be perfect for a few DCU roles.

Interestingly, we know what the actress thinks of that suggestion. During an interview withColliderback in 2013, Daddario was asked about the rumors she could play Wonder Woman, which have persisted to this day, and the actress revealedshe would love to be part of a Wonder Woman film. Daddario claimed that even if she was not cast in the role, the actress would simply be excited to see a Wonder Woman movie being made. Gal Gadot ended up being cast in the role, with her first solo Wonder Woman film grossing $823 million worldwide. Check out her full quote below:

Alexandra Daddario as Lois Lane

“Whether I’m in a Wonder Woman movie or not, I would love to be. I would love to see Wonder Woman get made. I would love to see this strong female action hero.”

Alexandra Daddario Has The Greek Mythology Experience To Play Wonder Woman

I mostly enjoyed Gadot’s time as Wonder Woman. The actress brought Wonder Woman’s fierce and compassionate sides to the big screen gracefully. However, I did not like howthe DCEU did not really delve into Wonder Woman’s Greek mythology connections. That part of her is such an important aspect of Diana’s story in the comics, and so I was disappointed by all the untapped potential of the DCEU’s version of Wonder Woman. Thankfully, James Gunn’s DCU is paying more attention to it, with theParadise Lostprequel series set to focus on the Amazons of Themyscira and their rich history.

I believe that Alexandra Daddario is perfect to play the DCU’s Wonder Woman and make sure that her Greek mythology connections are faithfully brought to life. After all, one of the actress' most well-known roles comes directly from that. Daddario became famous worldwide forplaying Annabeth Chase, Athena’s daughter, in twoPercy Jacksonmovies. Both Annabeth and Diana are strong warriors who can dispatch several enemies alone in combat. However, their true strength comes from the characters' ability to show compassion to others, inspire those around them, and their resiliency. Daddario’sPercy Jacksonexperience would be valuable for Wonder Woman.

I Enjoyed Alexandra Daddario’s Major DC Role

The Star Already Has A Working Relationship With The Studio

While Daddario still has to play a DC character in live-action, she has already lent her voice to one of the comic book giant’s most important players.Daddario voiced Lois Lane in multiple movies set in DC’s animated Tomorrowverse franchise. I’m a fan of what she did with the character. Daddario’s version of Lois was very much true to her classic comic book self. She was independent and played a key role as the reporter who unearthed Lex Luthor’s secret plans inSuperman: Man of Tomorrow. She returned in two parts of theJustice League: Crisis on Infinite Earthstrilogy.

Since Rachel Brosnahan is already cast as the DCU’s Lois Lane, debuting in July’sSuperman, Daddario would have to play another role in the franchise. That said, her experienceplaying one of DC’s most prominent female charactersand her time as the fierce Annabeth Chase in thePercy Jacksonmovies show how she is ready to take on such an iconic role as Wonder Woman in James Gunn’s DC Universe. Given how actors will play their roles in live-action and voice them in animation, Daddario has shown she fits what DC is looking for, making her the perfectWonder Woman.
