Sonic the Hedgehoghas seen increasing success in recent years, which it can continue to build on using Amy Rose. Based on the Sega video games,Sonicis Sega’s flagship franchise and has understandably blossomed into Hollywood.EverySonic the Hedgehogherohas been given their own special place on screen recently, and the studio would do well to listen to conversations regarding what worked and what didn’t. WhileSonicisn’t likely to flag in popularity any time soon, but its next movie should pay attention to Amy Rose, used well inSonic 3.

Amy Rose is a main character in the anime seriesSonic Xand the Archie Comics comic series,as well as a big feature in the Paramount PicturesSonicmovies. The First 3 Sonic The Hedgehog Movies Were Pretty Light On Female Characters

Sonic The Hedgehog Has Been Quite Masculine Up To Movie 3

Out ofevery video game character in theSonic the Hedgehogmovies, Amy Rose may be the most promising in the future, even though she only crops up toward the end of the third movie, when the franchise has felt very testosterone-fueled so far. This is fair enough to a certain extent, riffing off the traditional younger male demographic of the video games. But now,Amy Rose could be one of the most interesting characters in the entire world ofSonic. Going intoSonic 4, she could shake things up and bring in a new audience.

Amy Rose Needs A Substantial Part In Sonic The Hedgehog 4’s Story

Sonic 4 Shouldn’t Ignore Amy Rose If It Wants To Be Big

After theSonic 3ending,theSonic the Hedgehog 4moviewould not be complete without Amy Rose playing a substantial part in the plot. Amy is a long-time admirer of Sonic and often humanizes the selfless speedster throughout his many adventures, as per Sega’s long history and the lore encompassing many different media formats.Amy Rose’s crush on Sonic would be an important additionto an action-packed boys' club. WhileSonichas been great, some human interest to dramatize relationships and a relatable female figure would boost it significantly.

Only One Main Sonic The Hedgehog Character Hasn’t Had Their Own Movie & It Breaks My Heart To Say It

Despite there being three live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies, I am saddened that one major character has not received a central focus.

AfterAmy Rose’s strong introduction inSonic 3, it seems like the movie franchise is headed in the right direction. It will only take the right marketing to the right segment and a strong script to propelSonic 4into box office territory that previous movies did not quite grasp and raise awareness of the franchise. With her Pika Pika Hammer and action-centric entry, it is clear that Amy will be a driver of the plot and fighting the good fight, rather than an obstacle to the action. Thus,Sonic the Hedgehogshould use this underrated character to the maximum in the future.
