His retirement from the role in 2019’sAvengers Endgamewas very emotional, but we recently saw Evans back in action inDeadpool & Wolverine, and he’ll be returning again very soon.

Steve Rogers’ HYDRA Stomperfollowed a similar storyline to the MCU’s Bucky Barnes inWhat If…?. He was presumed dead during World War II, but returned in the present day under the mind-control of an evil organization, in this case, the Red Room rather than HYDRA.Rogers' HYDRA Stomper was last seen sacrificing himself to bring down the Red Room, though he was teased to have survived. This makes me think his jump into the live-action MCU has been perfectly set up, and I would love to see this come to fruition.
I Want Other What If…? Variants To Appear In The Live-Action MCU

Along with Captain Carter and Steve Rogers' HYDRA Stomper,I’d love to see many other variants from the animatedWhat If…?series make the move to live-action inAvengers: Doomsday. It would be brilliant to see the likes of T’Challa’s Star-Lord, Strange Supreme, Party Thor, Happy Hogan’s Freak, Nova Corps Nebula, Sakaaran Iron Man, the heroic Hela and Kahhori, among others, appear in live-action. This would create the perfect opportunity for some of the MCU’s biggest stars and most wasted characters to return, which makes me very excited.

What If…? season 3’s new trailer confirms that several new MCU characters will be appearing in the upcoming animated series for the first time.
While it would be great to see any number of animated variants fromWhat If…?make the move to live-action,I would be most excited to see Hayley Atwell and Chris Evans develop the mythology of Captain Carter and Steve Rogers' HYDRA Stomper inAvengers: Doomsday. This could be the perfect MCU project to fulfill this mission, asRobert Downey Jr. has already been recast as Doctor Doom, so other MCU veterans could also play different versions of their classic roles. If this comes to fruition,Avengers: Doomsdaywill be the most character-filled MCU movie yet.
