Obi-Wan Kenobiseason 2 isn’t confirmed amongStar Wars’upcoming TV shows, but if theStar Warsshow was renewed, this would be the perfect story arc. For quite some time, it has seemed as thoughObi-Wan Kenobiwas truly a limited series and a season 2 would not happen. However, recently,Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor and Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen have both made reference to wanting another season, raising questions about what could be in the works.

While actors' interest certainly doesn’t dictateStar Warsmovies and TV shows, McGregor and Christensen aren’t just any actors; they’re two of the most beloved actors for two ofStar Wars’best characters, and they continue to be heavily celebrated in the franchise. Moreover, in addition to saying he would be willing to return, McGregor specifically said there was more story to tell. Based on this small comment, perhaps some conversations are happening behind the scenes—and this could be the very story McGregor had in mind.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2: News, Updates, & Everything We Know

Is Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 happening? Here’s everything we know about a potential second season starring Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan Has Reconnected With The Force… Will He Reconnect With The Jedi?

Obi-Wan Kenobiseason 1 picked up about 10 years afterStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the SithontheStar Warstimelineand saw Obi-Wan in hiding on Tatooine, watching over young Luke Skywalker from a distance. While, in part, Obi-Wan was cut off from the Force because he wanted to go undetected by the Empire, both for his own safety and for Luke’s, it was clear there was more of a disconnect happening beyond that. Specifically,Obi-Wan seemed nearly like Luke inStar Wars: The Last Jedi, broken down and with little hope left.

This made sense, as Obi-Wan was not only one ofthe survivors of Order 66who lived with the horrible memories of that event but also had lost his beloved former Padawan Anakin Skywalker to the dark side (and nearly killed him himself). However, after learning that Anakin was alive as Darth Vader and confronting him once more, Obi-Wan had a newfound connection with the Force. In fact, the show ended with the Force ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan’s former Jedi Master, appearing before him.

Wall of Jedi Names from the Hidden Path in Obi-Wan Kenobi

It wouldn’t make sense for Obi-Wan to have another encounter with Darth Vader.

In light of that tremendous character development,perhapsObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2 would see Obi-Wan also reconnect with other Jedi. In truth, it wouldn’t make sense for Obi-Wan to have another encounter with Darth Vader in a second season; season 1 set upA New Hopetoo perfectly. However, this would make Obi-Wan’s focus on helping the remaining Jedi make even greater sense narratively.

The Hidden Path Would Be A Great Way Of Setting Up More Order 66 Survivors

Obi-Wan Kenobiseason 1 revealed the names of other Jedi who had survived the Order 66 massacre, most notably Quinlan Vos, whom Obi-Wan had worked with during the Clone Wars era. Specifically,Obi-Wan found Vos' name on a wall in one of the Rebellion’s hidden bunkers, suggesting that Vos was part of the Hidden Path. InStar Wars, the Hidden Path refers to an underground network that worked to protect surviving Jedi and other Force-sensitive people, hiding from the Empire.

Having Obi-Wan Kenobi reconnect with Quinlan Vos or other surviving Jedi and help with the Hidden Path would be the perfect role for Obi-Wan.

Having Obi-Wan Kenobi reconnect with Quinlan Vos or other surviving Jedi and help with the Hidden Path would be the perfect role for Obi-Wan in a potential season 2 ofObi-Wan Kenobi. After all, season 1 already proved that some Jedi were seeking Obi-Wan out specifically, which makes sense given the message he left behind following Order 66. Obi-Wan also still has 10 years to go beforeA New Hope, which would give him plenty of time to play some sort of role in the Rebellion and protect the Jedi without leaving Tatooine again.

The Inquisitors Could Still Be The Villains Of Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2

As mentioned, it wouldn’t really make sense for Obi-Wan and Vader to have another encounter inObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2. Their battle in season 1 was absolutely fantastic, and it perfectly set the stage for the two to have their final face-off inA New Hope. However, season 1 already nodded towards the ideal villains for a potential season 2:the Imperial Inquisitors. While Reva may have changed her ways by the end of season 1, the other Inquisitors certainly hadn’t.

Rather, the Inquisitors would remain a very active threat in season 2. In fact,if Obi-Wan were helping with the Hidden Path, it would make sense for the Inquisitors to be the main antagonists, as they would be seeking to find and kill the Jedi and Force-sensitives Obi-Wan was helping. This would also ensure that incredible lightsaber battles still happened in season 2, even if they weren’t between the Jedi and the Sith. WhileObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2 still hasn’t been confirmed byStar Wars, this story truly would be thrilling to see.
