A new set of leaks about Castorice’s internal tests forHonkai: Star Railhave emerged, and they show that the Chrysos Heir may be one of the most controversial characters in the turn-based RPG’s roster so far.Castorice is one of the many heroes from Amphoreus and is known the be the candidate to become the bearer of the Coreflame of Death, despite being a direct servant of the Titan called Thanatos. She has already been introduced as an NPC in the story quests, and now several leaks aboutCastorice’s kit inHonkai: Star Railare starting to emerge.

So far, the leaks have mentioned that Castorice is being set up for release in Version 3.2, possibly alongside Anaxa, though the banner phase in which each of the units will debut is unknown. The leaks also say that Castorice is a 5-star Quantum character on the Path of the Remembrance. The aforementioned leaks about her kit reveal that she allegedly has an HP loss mechanic that boosts her offensive powers based on how low her HP is. As a Remembrance character, it’s expected that she has a memosprite, something teased byCastorice’s leaked splash art inHonkai: Star Rail.

Castorice’s Test Team Comps In Honkai: Star Rail Have Leaked

There Are Two Teams Rumored For The Chrysos Heir

While the key elements of Castorice’s kit have allegedly leaked, new details about the character’s ideal team comps have also leaked, possibly hinting at how she will operate in battles. According to information provided by the leaker known as Uncle Hellgirl, which was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” onRedditand clarified by a user in the comment section,Castorice is allegedly being internally tested with two different team comps: one that sees her supported by both Sunday and the Remembrance Trailblazer and another party that sets her up withMydei and Tribbie inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 Leaks Show The First New 4-Star Character In Months

After months of absences, a new 4-star character has been leaked for Honkai: Star Rail and it’s a familiar face who has long been awaited.

These two team comps are drastically different and the one that is showcased by HoYoverse may determine how Castorice will work. The first rumored team seemingly has Castorice as a hypercarry DPS, as both Sunday and the Remembrance Trailblazer are supports who enhance the main damage dealer’s stats. In contrast, Mydei is a main DPS character, too, while Tribbie is expected to be a support and sub-DPS – this team comp may lead to an unusual double DPS team comp carried by a single support, which is not quite common inHonkai: Star Rail’s current meta.

Castorice’s Leaked Team Comps May Dictate How She Performs In Honkai: Star Rail

One Of Them Takes On An Unusual Approach

If Castorice were to be at her best with the first team comp, she would be a traditional hypercarry DPS. Hypercarry DPS teams usually have one dedicated damage dealer (in this case, Castorice), and two support units. Together, Sunday and the Remembrance Trailblazer would drastically improve her CRIT DMG stat. Furthermore, their abilities would also advance her actions, making her strike more times in combat. This is a great type of team structure that has already proven to work with several DPS units in the game, including Blade andAglaea inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: Anaxa’s Weird Path Choice May Actually Make Sense (For HoYoverse)

Anaxa may be following an unexpected Path in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2, but there may be a reasonable explanation as to why HoYoverse would do this.

Contrarily, the double DPS structure has not really worked in the game so far, despite some attempts toward it. The strategy involves running two DPS units (in this rumored case, Castorice and Mydei), a support (Tribbie), and a sustain character. As such, the damage output would mainly be divided by two characters instead of trying to make a single DPS reach their peak performance. The specific lineup of characters for this rumored team comp for Castorice may actually make sense, especially with the rumors about Tribbie andMydei’s kits inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail’s Mydei rests his head on his hand.

The leaks about Tribbie show that she may be a support unit who also doubles as a damage dealer. This is because Tribbie can allegedly increase all her allies’ RES PEN and, additionally, contribute with Additional DMG and follow-up attacks. According to the leaks, Tribbie’s offensive abilities all scale off her Max HP.Furthermore, the rumors say that Tribbie has a passive skill that increases her Max HP by a percentage of all of her allies’ Max HP. If Castorice uses HP as part of her central mechanic,Tribbie’s kit inHonkai: Star Railmay benefit from the partnership.

If Tribbie has a high Max HP, she should be able to deal a significant amount of damage, which may result in her also working as a sub-DPS, as was previously mentioned.

Honkai Star Rail’s Anaxa looks sad.

Mydei is rumored to be a main DPS who also scales off of Max HP. According to his leaked kit, Mydei consumes his own HP to empower his attacks and, depending on how much HP he has lost, the stronger his damage output. Because of this,Mydei is expected to have a large Max HP pool, with some rumors indicating he should have more than Blade, who also runs on Max HP. Mydei’s Max HP, which is rumored to be high, may directly benefit Tribbie, but there is a chance that it could also help Castorice inHonkai: Star Rail.

The rumors about Castorice mention she will consume the HP of all the characters in her team, which would automatically drain Tribbie and Mydei. These same leaks also say that Castorice may keep track of the HP lost by her party members and, in turn, provide extra attack power. If this is the case,Castorice’s HP drain could help Mydei reach his HP consumption goals and, in turn, his own HP loss mechanics could help Castorice empower her attacks further. With both DPS units running on high Max HPs, Tribbie would possibly be a great sub-DPS inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail Needs To Revisit Its Other Maps With A Special Amphoreus Update

Version 3.0 and Amphoreus added several new mechanics to Honkai: Star Rail, but there’s one of them that deserves adaptation for older maps.

The leaks also say that Castorice is independent of Energy for her Ultimate and, instead, requires reaching a certain HP threshold – though it’s uncertain if that means she unlocks its usage once her team consumes a specific amount of HP or when her own Max HP hits a specific percentage. Regardless, based solely on leaks, this team seems to have incredible synergy, especially if they are paired with a shielder like AventurineinHonkai: Star Rail, who would protect them but allow them to keep reducing their respective HP counts.

Honkai Star Rail’s Welt reaches out with a concerned look.

Castorice’s Leaked HP Team In Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 May Be Near-Impossible To Acquire

Three 5-Star Characters May Be Released Consecutively

As much as this team comp seems promising, there is a huge problem with it, especially if the rumors about Castorice’s release are true. Mydei and Tribbie are both confirmed to arrive in Version 3.1. The leaks indicate that Castorice will be released in the following update, Version 3.2.Essentially, this means that, to reach Castorice’s leaked team comp structure, players may have to pull for three different 5-star characters in a row, without more time to recover theirStellar Jade inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail Leaks: Upcoming Amphoreus Character May Be Yet Another Surprise For Welt

A new Honkai: Star Rail leak has put the spotlight on an Amphoreus character design, which may resemble yet another figure from Welt’s past.

The pull rates in the turn-based RPG make it very difficult to obtain 5-star characters, and there is even a chance of losing to the 50/50 system. If players are lucky enough not to lose the 50/50 but unlucky to the point they have to hit hard pity for each of these characters, they will see themselves spending 270 Star Rail Special Passes. This is a ludicrous amount, especially for casual players who don’t spend too much or anything on the game. Obtaining all three 5-stars, back-to-back, will likely only be accomplished byHonkai: Star Railplayers known as “whales.”

mixcollage-24-dec-2024-11-34-am-8587.jpg

For reference,“whales” are players who are known for spending a lot of real-life money on the game.

For players who rely on Stellar Jade that comes from gameplay and, possibly, the season pass and the Express Supply Pass, obtaining them will be nearly impossible. This could mean that anyone who pulls for Castorice may be locked out of her ideal performance simply because she requires two other 5-star units and there wasn’t enough Stellar Jade to acquire them all. If this ends up being the ideal team that HoYoverse settles with, it will be a strange choice, economically speaking.

For now, all of these leaks should be taken with a huge grain of salt. As exemplified by the leaker’s reactions to the information, Castorice is still highly subject to change and, overall, she may end up running with neither of the leaked team comps. Even so, it does seem like Castorice will work pretty well as a DPS, but some players may feel left out of her full potential as a character inHonkai: Star Rail.
